This. I've manged to (hopefully) land a 750 the last two years via some nice international folks via the other site. Last year it was in person on said individuals California vacation. This year it was through that persons connections. I say hopefully as the bottle was shipped out the middle of July and has been in a NY customs sort facility since the 26th of July. Hoping that one makes it to me. Both times I traded around six bottles of American brewery only releases. Dark Lord, Darkness, Black Tuesday, etc. Good luck and congrats.

Does anyone know if Ithaca is going to make LeBleu again? I believe I read that the brewer who makes Brute and LeBleu left or something. I have been holding my last bottle of each until I hear more. I don't want to drink them and not end up being able to get more.

Nobody knows for sure - lots of rumors one way or the other, but yes, Chief went to Peekskill.

Do you like your beer to smell and taste like plastic? If so, then yes.

At LeBleu release this year they said next LeBleu release is in barrels now, Brute is over, but this is of course just more rumor.

Chief now brews nearby to me, at Peekskill, they just got a (sp)coolship, hopefully the great O'Neil sours and wilds will have a Peeksill label soon.

Probably best to know what Upland Blueberry batch you are trading for if you decide to go that route (if there have been different batches). I had a couple that were terrible. Fairly flat and barely any sourness. I would like to try these bottles comparable to blabaer but upland's aroma/flavor profile is very distinguishable to me. Very sharp acidity and some other unique qualities like fresh tomatoes that don't remind me of Cantillon. I'd recommend Lebleu before Upland. I would never recommend Cascade as a lambic substitute. I think you can buy a bottle of pure lactic acid and some blueberries for less money.

Agreed, 2007 was the winner over 2011 and 2012 (not nearly as good as the other two).

Just another viewpoint to further muddy the waters:

I found LeBleu to be disappointing in terms of blueberry flavor. Maybe my expectations were just really high after the awesomeness that is Brute.

Cascade was better, but still a world apart from Blabaer. The fact nobody will trade me an Upland Blueberry, but I get plenty offers for other Upland lambics as counteroffers, means it is either rare or damn good (or heaven forbid both!).

I think Blabaer is the best thing Cantillon makes.

I could probably find one if you had a bl%C3%A5b%C3%A6r.

Blueberry isnt a very strong flavor in beer. Or a strong flavor in general. Ive had blabaer many times and never said, "damn thats a lot of blueberry!" I just get an added amount of acidity and a very little bit of generic berry flavor. Maybe it's a weak flavor to just me or my expectation of wanting it to taste like blue fun dip that makes me think blueberries are a total waste of fruit when making a beer.

Maybe the tons of (blue)berry sediment at the bottom of the bottle made me compensate in my mind. . . but I really remember a great blueberry lambic.

Check this beer out, I think it might change your take on blueberry + beer. Lots of blueberry. I haven't gotten around to writing my review yet, but rest assured the smell rating will be a '5' solely based on the amazing blueberry aroma.

Ha. Interesting. Don't think I've ever noticed that beer around here. I'll search it out.

Having recently had blabaer, upland blueberry, leblue, and cascade blueberry, imo, blueberry is the worst fruit I've had in lambic.

i agree that brute whips lebleu, but i felt lebleu had this real "wow, i just ate a blueberry" aftertaste. up front though, not a blueberry blast like great IPAs are hop blasts or cantillon is a sour funk blast.

This. Blueberry is middle of the pack as far as Uplands, but hasn't been made forever. All other flavors have been released at least once since the last time Blueberry was made (2 years or so), so it'll be one of the harder ones to trade for.

Rare or not, it's not the worth the chance trading hard for a potentially shitty bottle of Blueberry. The ones I've had were not enjoyable at all. Definitely wouldn't want a drainpour for your wedding.

I think there is a decent amount of bottle variation, as the two Blueberry bottles I opened near the '10 release were very jammy, similar to how I felt about the '10 Blackberry bottles. Agreed that the latest batches of Kiwi & Persimmon are the tops for fruited Uplands.
