Black Acre Brewing will be closing effective February 4th, 2023. We are extraordinarily proud of what we’ve been able to achieve in our 11 years in wonderful Historic Irvington, but it’s time for us to close this chapter.

Oh what a chapter it’s been! We have met so many great people and built life-long friendships along the way. We are truly grateful for all of you. We know we are incredibly lucky to have been able to be a part of the vibrant community here. We’ve laughed together. We’ve cried together. We’ve survived floods, fires, and plagues together. We’ve had lots of tasty beers together. We are really going to miss it.

Let’s go out on a high note! Mark your calendars to celebrate with us:

Saturday, February 4th will be our last day and 11 year anniversary. Cheers and love to you all!"

I stopped in Tuesday night after I heard the news. A lot more people there than normal, everyone buying up cases, posters and any merch that was still available. Black Acre was always my favorite place to go get a beer in Indy. No distracting TVs or overly loud music. Just lots of great beer that was pushing boundaries in the early days of the craft beer boom in Indy. As the business matured there was maybe less boundary pushing and more reliance on old favorites. I probably took Black Acre for granted too much the last few years. I'll definitely miss it and all the people involved.

Good to read that Scarlet Lane Brewing will be taking over the Black Acre space in Irvington. Also really cool that they will start brewing two Black Acre favorites, Saucy Intruder and Natural Liberty. I know the owners of each brewery are really good friends, nice to see Black Acre live on in a sense.
