They cellared their case as far as I know.

 

That's strange that they would post on FB that they got it in, and then cellar it.
Is that what they told you?

I don't like passing on bad info, but there's not much I can do but trust what they post.

 

I know - I saw the post too, ran in to try and grab it and was told it was being cellared for a while. I've heard from some people that its good fresh, so im a little surprised. That being said, they do print a "best after" date, and it was June 2014.

 

I'm waiting until after the best after date to open another. I was not really a fan of it fresh. Last year was so much better in my opinion. Anyone else try it?

 

Yeah. Right now it's pretty rough. It needs to cool out. A lot. Too bitter and boozy right now.

 

I've had 2 thus far, and have enjoyed them both quite a bit. I will be cellaring 4-5 bottles though too.

 

Did you go on a scavenger hunt? Or just find a store without a limit?

 

Most stores I've been to do not have a limit. It isn't that limited to begin with.

 

Most stores had a 4-6 limit, but seemed pretty easy to get around town when it hit. I'm not sure if its still on the shelf though now. I didn't see anymore at one spot tonight. But I did also buy from 3 stores total too.

 

It's at Ale Jail right now, or was yesterday afternoon (even after the cellar sale madness).

I haven't had this years yet, but this has been far from a mediocre dark beer. Most years, I have enjoyed this more than Abyss.

 

We don't need people like you on this site, much less this forum.

 

Byerlys in Maple Grove had it last weekend and I think it was under $12, also had LC#3 under $13.

 

Had this on tap this week. A lot more bourbon than XXIV. I don't suppose anyone has seen this still sitting on shelf anywhere?

 

Saw some in the cooler at Chicago Lake today.
