Black Butte XXVI

Hit shelves in MT this week. Truly delicious beer, better than 25 in my opinion. Really enjoyed the cranberry and cacao combo.

 

Found some in Nor-Cal. I was surprised at $13.99. I expected it to be 16 or 17 based on Mirror Mirror and Not the Stoic.

 

Picked up a few over the weekend in Colorado Springs, one will be consumed this week most likely while the other will get some age on it.

 

Was is at Coaltrain? I must have missed it!

 

Coaltrain did get some in, along with J&K, but I bought mine @ Veteran's.

what is a nib?

I purchased my black butte 26 last week, but have been unable to locate the nibs

not a bad idea to listen to Black Sabbath while enjoying this one

 

The distributor was at whole foods LP and told me it should be hitting shelves near the end of the month, with similar if not greater quantities of mirror mirror and not the stoic

 

Deschutes just started distributing here I believe.

 

Still looking for it in the Twin cities area.

Picked some up at Costco in Sacramento. They are selling it for around 13. Also mirror mirror for 11.99

 

Mirror Mirror and Not the Stoic are still around in Portland too, so it's not a matter of people don't know about Deschutes. BBXXVI bottles are still plentiful as well. I think Deschutes has hit their max of what people are willing to pay for their bottles combined with (what I perceive as) higher production numbers and more competition. Over the past couple years the BBXXnn bottles seem to be hanging around longer and longer. Even Abyss kept showing up a few months after release this past fall.

Also, $13 for a bottle?! Buy them all. XXVI is fantastic and I wish I could find it at this price here. Heck, a local grocery store is having a 20% Oregon craft beer 22s and the XXVI bottles are still almost $14.

 

Hit shelves here today. I don't get paid until Tuesday.

 

Black Butte Reserve is a great beer. I dont care what they put on the label.

 

I passed on a bottle at $20. Good call? Never had it. Have a XXV in cellar from a BIF. Would I be wise to try XXV first before shelling out $20 for XXVI?

 

Just picked one up at Ottos in Milwaukee. Its phenomenal

 

Has it hit Ohio yet? I have been checking around only to come up empty.
