Anyone hear anything about this yet for us SE folks? Apparently Vanilla Rye is very limited in distro and i've heard that some states won't be getting any at all. I'm hoping it's not impossible to find here in FL.

Hit your local total wine on black Friday.

Did that last year and loaded up on BCBS and BCBW, but they didn't initially get any BCBCS or Backyard.

Apparently some stores already know exactly what they're getting in, but I just checked with Lueken's Liquors and they don't know which variants they're getting yet. I didn't see Backyard anywhere in Tampa or St. Pete last year, but I was able to get BCBCS at ABC.

Lucked into some BCBW last year in Destin. Going to try again this year since I'll be in the area for Thanksgiving and Georgia's ABV laws screw us on these.

The store I went to on BF last year had BCBS, BCBCS and BCBBW. They also got a case of Backyard.

If they sell a shit ton of the other GI products they will get everything this year.

This is correct. Last year, I wasn't really after BCBS but when I went to at TW in Orlando in early December, they had BCBCS up at the front. I figured it was rated highly so I grabbed one. They were limiting it to 1 12oz per customer (@$6 per bottle iirc.) I hope they don't pull that crap this year.

Last year I was also in Orlando over Thanksgiving weekend and went to the ABC by sister's house around Noon. The BCBCS was gone already (never saw it again at any store) so I got some BCBS ($18.99 per pack, 2 per person). The next week I grabbed some BCBW sitting around ABC Oakland Park. I actually prefer the BW. These beers are all so good. I ended up getting a BCBCS in a trade a couple of months ago and that one became my favorite. I'm planning to be in middle-of-nowhere Georgia (Dexter/Dublin area) on Black Friday this year so I'm hoping that I can grab some on the drive back down to South FL on Sunday. Wish me luck.

whoa. I was able to grab several 4-packs of regular and barleywine at the total wine in clearwater. BCBCS was 1 4-pack PP at ABC in St. Pete

I've got a few non-TW spots picked out to avoid having to drive around the city to put together a 4pk of each (BCBS, BCBCS, BCBBW.) At least they can't open bottles of the Vanilla Rye and pour them into 5.5oz portions.

Yeah for some reason the Orlando TW (on Colonial) loves to split all the new 'limited' 4pks and 6pks into singles so they can 'provide for more customers' while charging more per unit. It has nothing to do with 'customer service' and everything to do with profit.

Maybe. They split White Oak Jai Alai, Oracle, and Mars up.

Anyone know anything about Goose Island's event on Black Friday in Jacksonville? Can't seem to find much info on it....

The event on the 26th, looks to be at Kickbacks. Also, on black friday it will be released at TW for sure. Last year they also had it at beer 30, and grassroots. Although, the distributor was pissed at grassroots because they didn't have any backyard like they were supposed to come black friday, so they may not get it this year. I'm currently trying to get more information from the distributor, so I will let you know more when I hear updates

I'm hearing that the distributor here in Tampa literally got two cases.

Its possible I suppose but distributors shouldn't even have it quite yet

Heard the same thing from the store owner that I go to. Distro only got two cases and it's already in house and they have to wait until BF for release. Not trying to hunt this one down with only 2 cases to go around. I'll stick with BCBS, BCBCS, BCBBW....unless I get lucky which I don't think will happen after coming out a Turkey Comatose. Not waking up that early for anything...Well maybe a BJ

That's nuts. That means Pinellas will probably get around the same. I heard it's around 5000 bottles of Vanilla. That's not going to go very far with nationwide distro.

Call me skeptical and maybe it's just because I've witnessed distributor reps lying to local stores in person about allotments, availability etc...but really, only 24 bottles were already delivered to Tampa?!

Which stores were telling you this? Small shops get lied to *all the time* about allotments while the bigger accounts get a small mountain.

*All the time is probably a bit overstated, but in the few times I've been in stores during limited releases I've witnessed it multiple times already.

I was told yesterday by one of the owners at my spot that North Carolina wasn't getting any vanilla rye at all.
