Black Friday 2014 Bourbon County Release

Glad I had a Vanilla Rye on tap at Frank and Stein's the other day. And several places will have it tonight. Just bummed that none of my 4-man team was able to get any coffee or vanilla bottles!

 

ABC in Wesley Chapel had 1 case each of the variants, plus 7 cases of Regular BCBS, 1 4-pack limit of the regular and 1 bottle of your choice of one 1 of the variants. There were a good 20 or so people in line when they opened the doors so the Vanilla went immediately. The ABC near USF only had regular with a 1 4-pack limit. I stopped in to a couple other independent shops that had quite a bit last year and received NONE this year.

 

The rep from wzyne densch was at LK Mary ABC he said no vanilla for Seminole or Lake counties. They were growlering 2013 BCBS & BCBW. should have plenty as both were full kegs. TW mall at mellenia got one case vanilla.

 

Orlando was fun.

The ABC I went to early got 0 vanilla. I did get a 4pk of coffee. Same for most ABCs with regards to vanilla.

Ended up at shamrock early and got what I wanted from there.

 

Is Orlando dried up of the standard variety ? I'm mad I missed the Wednesday night festivities, but had much better luck hunting in Fort Myers (although they brought their mules out on the heavy). My second stop had Standard and Barleywine 4pks stacked up on the shelf and no lines, they'll probably be sitting there for quite a while.

 

No vanilla for Lake was false. ABC Clermont had a case. World of Beer Clermont and World of Beer The Villages got a case each too, selling by lottery entry (at bar retail, not package store retail, but if you're desperate...)

 

The ABC in Clermont had Vanilla. I was able to get 1 bottle of Vanilla, 1 bottle of Barleywine and 1 4-pk of regular. They must have only had 1 case of Vanilla. I was about 10th in line and got one of the last ones.

 

ATL was your typical ATL beer release. no surprises. Just had to do a bit of driving to collect some bottles. fun time today. Hope everyone got their share.

 

That is what the Densch rep said this morning. Do you get it from another dist?

 

Ah yep. Our distro is with City Bev, not Densch.

 

Apparently, it's good to have 'Eagle' in the name of the distributor in the area. I live here, so no complaints

 

Picked up bcbs, barley and coffee today in Wilmington nc

 

Anybody from jacksonville go to the 2 events for it? I drove down from atlanta and it was awesome. The pub crawl wednesday was great. Got to taste all the variants minus prop two days before. You got a bourbon county mini snifter (5 ounces) that were specifically made for the event and then at the end they raffled off bottles of king henry, backyard rye and 2010 vanilla. I didn't win but it was still awesome.

Then today at beer 30 if you were the first 100 in lime you got a bourbon countt snifter, a pack of intelligesta coffee that they use in bcbcs and a poster and guaranteed two bottles of vanilla. And they had at least three stores that had a lot of cases of vanilla and everything else. It was a blast. Anyone else go to it?

 

Just picked up a 4 pack of regular at the once upon a vine in RVA near Hardywood. They had a few more if anyone missed out.

 

This am, ABC in Carrollwood had 6 Vanilla. I was 5th in line at 8:20 with Sbux and folding chair in hand.

Also got 4xBCBS and 2xBCBSCS (passed on BW).

As of this evening, on way to sister in laws in CLW, TW CLW on 580 still had BCBS and BW. Was 4 bottles per person, regardless of type.

Should be some left... get going!

I didn't venture far around Orlando this year and only came up with a single bottle of BCBS from Knightly Spirits - Summerport. It'll be put to use as part of a 3-year vertical around Christmas.

 

Was in line in Lake Mary at 9:30. Was able to get 2 growlers of 13' BW. 2 4 packs of BCBS. 4 BCBW and 2 coffe cuz I gave one to a guy behind me since I got the last 3 coffee. He had never had it.

I then drove to total wine in Daytona. No lines and they had vanilla just sitting there on the shelf. No one around. Weird. Picked up 2 22oz vanilla and 2 more BCBS 4 packs and some more backwoods. I lucked out compared to a lot of people.

any places still have it on tap or in bottles? Missed out yesterday and willing to drive around today if needed.
