Think about this too. AB InBev has a minority stake in so many things like the CBA for example.

    No, it's not 2nd guessing, it's discussion.

I don't judge anyone who still chooses to buy GI, Widmer Bros, Redhook, or any of the other "craft" breweries that AB owns or has a stake in. BCBS, Juliet, Madame Rose, etc are delicious beers made by skillful, passionate brewers. It's your money and your prerogative - and, as we've both agreed, NOT buying GI products will almost certainly not make any sort of impact on AB/InBev.

Yep and I believe that's the crappy downside to the discussion. In a perfect world it would be interesting to see what approach would work best - not buying their stuff, buying limited items, or other alternatives. Though my previous post was a slightly in jest, I readily agree that their continued acquisition of craft brands is concerning.

Would it be safe to assume then that you'll be receiving a fair amount of all the variants then?

It's kind of funny when people use "there are plenty of other similar beers out there that are just as good" when talking about BCBS and not buying it because InBev owns GI. It's just flat out untrue. There are no barrel aged stouts that are the price of BCBS or as easy to find that really come close.

We've let this go a bit.

Let's get this thread back on topic to talking about the actual Black Friday release of BCBS and variants as opposed to:

    a) whether or not you buy GI beers because of the AB-InBev connection
    b) whether or not there are equally good/better beers in distro in the area

The first topic is not for this regional forum...the second should be it's own thread.

Amen. It's all about the beer with me and BCBS is a good one. I couldn't care less if it was brewed by Satan himself. If this was a one-time, brewery-only release, it would be up there with BA Huna, BA Mexi Cake, BA DLs and all the other BA beers that people trade an arm and a leg for. I don't proselytize. I drink.

I talked to an ABC rep today and he told me that Vanilla as of now looks like a no for most ABC's and BCBCS will be very, very limited. I hope that changes between now and Black Friday.

I'll be visiting my parents in live oak which is a beer waste land. Does anyone know of a shop in very south georgia, tallahassee, or jacksonville that will have the delicious bourbon budweiser?

Stella Brew, CityBev and Total Wine will all have it. Bestway in GSO will have plenty as well.

This would make sense since ABC got no Backyard last year and very little coffee (at least the ones by me). TW got the lions share of bourbon county around here.

I have a feeling you could.

You seem to disagree with pretty much everything.

I'll be buying some on Black Friday if I can find it.

    Where did you hear this?

Got the barleywine last year, haven't heard/read the regular BCBS was coming to GA this year. No doubt happy to hear, but curious about the ABV this year if we are getting it.
