Black Friday 2014 Bourbon County Release

Definitely didnt stand in line to buy BW last year. Bought it several times all over town. even bought some to send in trades. no limits any time I bought it.

 

BW was sitting on the shelves at total wine at Perimeter for a long time and was still in Greenville, SC this summer

 

Same here. Although, I only bought it once, it wasn't hard to get, was offered to me, and I know I saw it around town for a good while. Didn't last "forever", but it was around.

 

Sprayberry Bottle also has the sign up, and is releasing at 10AM along with some other great cellar stashes...

 

..Just saw a posting on ISO:FT Facebook page with a photo of the 2014 BCBS. It looks to have a 13.8% ABV.

The barleywine is really good, but to me it doesn't taste very different from regular BCBS. They age it in barrels that previously held the stout, right?

I think this year I'm going to try and trade any barleywine I get for coffee.

 

I went by a TW in Orlando and they had large posters up already for BourbonCounty black friday.

I spoke with an employee to see if they already have a plan in place and the following information was provided:
They believe they will only be getting BCBS, BCBCS and BCBBW. Vanilla is not in their system at the moment. They also plan on 'limiting the quantity' per person based on the line and what they actually receive.

I'm sure this is how most places will be handling it. My biggest concern was lining up and getting a 4pk of BCBS / BCBBW and only being allowed to purchase 1 12oz bottle of BCBCS. I'd prefer a 4pk of all three versions.

Wonder who in Orlando will be getting the vanilla rye? If that info surfaces, that is where I'll likely go first that morning.

 

I'll be visiting Family in SWFL (Port Charlotte). In the past it's proven to be a beer wasteland so hoping the ABC down there gets it. Anyone have any pointers from last year as there where in Fort Myers / Port Charlotte / Sarasota might be a good place to start for the release?

 

I'm going to be visiting the Mill Spring area during the black friday release anyone know of any spots in that area that will have it available?

 

So it looks like they've dropped the ABV to accommodate some of the states with crap ABV laws. Good on them.

Looking forward to trying to get some BCBCS this year, only had one bottle and it was insanely good.

 

Have you even heard if GA is getting the coffee this year?

 

I have not. I would assume we could get it though, unless they are doing a slow roll out for the new states. I know the ABv is always a bit lower on the coffee, so we should be clear on that front.

 

I have only seen Stout and Barleywine posted. If we get coffee that would be a surprise.

 

Agreed; from two sources. Would love to see the coffee though! Had one of last year's BWs last night and it was tasty. Lots of floaties, but tasty.

 

From my rep about the release, "I don't know". Same in Decatur. They're keeping it close to the vest whatever info they have, if any. I'm assuming Stout and BW only as well, and any kegs that show up will not make it anywhere except premier bars.

 

If last years distribution of Backyard is any indicator, Total Wine is going to be your best bet. Get there early.
