Black Friday 2014 Bourbon County Release

Hopcloth on Instagram posted a picture of a tasting of 2014 BCBS on Instagram last night. Not sure where/how they got it already.

 

Obviously I would love to have details now, but seems clear that BCBS and BW are coming to GA. Still plenty of time before Black Friday to get the details and if I miss out or it is crazy limited, trading for it or just having someone mail me a case isnt an issue. Not going to sweat BCBS right now.

If you're in Charlotte for Thanksgiving, come out to Duckworth's for Bourbon County Festivities the night before Thanksgiving. We'll be pouring draft of BCBS and BCBW.

 

Learned recently that the GA wholesaler will receive no coffee - only BW and BS.

 

Our Lakeland shops got their allotments of BCBS earlier this week. I doubt we will be getting anything else unless they distribute the variants separately for some reason.

 

Saw a pic last nite that apparently somewhere in NJ, someone released it yesterday, some manager is gonna be pissed when he/she finds out...pic was of a case of BCBS and it was a 2014 bottle...

 

Anybody able to tell me about the release of BCBS and/or variants in Naples FL last year? My inlaws live there and I'm contemplating asking them to pick some for me if it's available at Total Wine/ABC/? easily enough that they don't have to be in line at 3AM and fight angry mobs for a single bottle...

 

Anyone have any idea of what might show up in Richmond or central VA? Planning on hitting up TW first thing in the morning, hopefully some of the variants will make it down our way.

 

I recall hearing from friends in that area that it was plentiful at TW last year. My impression is that the Naples TW seems to get roughly the same quantity of special releases as say, Tampa, but with about 10% of the number of people who care. It's kind of crazy what sits on shelves down there. My guess is your in-laws could get to TW about 8:30-9 and grab a case no problem, but obviously it's hard to predict.

Yeah, pretty sure GA will NOT get any of the variants. Regular BW & Stout.

I guess I'll be on the ISO BCBCS this year.

 

really hoping to land some BCBS and BCBW in the Atl North burbs this year. Moved to GA last year from Wi/MN where both were easy to find for the most part. Was not even aware that GA got BCBW last year. Anyone know if the TW in Alpharetta might get any? Also heard that Taco Mac might have a release party (but not sure if it is draft or bottles and which or how many locations.)

 

Last year the Total Wine at Perimeter had it for a few weeks. Cases were just sitting on the floor. I think they had it in Alpharetta as well though.

 

Last year regular BCBS was available on Black Friday, and was relatively easy to obtain a fair amount. The variants did not come until a week or two after that. We got all the variants last year, though only two of the around 15 alloted cases made it to retial outlets (TW), while the rest of the Backyard went to on-premise only accounts. The bcbcs dried up extremely quickly, but there was a second drop right before or after Christmas. I have heard everything is supposed to be released on Black Friday this year, and have gotten confirmation from multiple people that we will NOT be seeing Vanilla Rye. Good luck in your hunt, will be hunting myself up in Buffalo while visiting the in-laws.

 

Did you find anything out about limits or what time they will open?

 

As long as I get a bottle or two of Vanilla Rye, I'll be good.
