I doubt you will easily find it in Gwinnett County. So little limited stuff seems to make it up this way. I asked my local store and they were doubtful about getting any. Total Wine by Northpoint Mall probably will have it, but the intown stores may be easier to get to on Black Friday. Although it is likely to be a shit show anywhere.

I really really doubt that this is going to be a "shitshow" in ATL for BCBS. There might be a line and limits, but no shit shows.

Lines and limits are shit shows, right? To be honest, my rep is being so evasive with info I don't care anymore. If I get it, cool, if not, oh well. I'm not going to raise cane over a beer that I've had numerous times and can likely direct everyone elsewhere to find. It'd be nice to provide some to customers, but I'm not going to loose sleep over it.

Oh yeah sorry I forgot. Anything where I dont get exactly what I want, when I want with no effort is considered a shit show in the beer game.

That's the current assumption anyway. I think it's silly to be worried about fights/brawls, or whatever, but people have to blow everything out of proportion. The real story is a store gets it, posts it, sells it all, then everyone else trashes them on social media for not getting enough for them to score some. Pretty calm actually.

not to get too off topic, but beer in ATL is super easy and it is because we have a lot of great retailers. Ale yeah, Greens, and Tower all have people who do a great job with their twitter accounts and letting people know the details. Following 3 accounts on twitter isnt too much to ask if you want limited beers.

Orlando (and close surrounding areas) has 10 bottle shops getting the 4 (including vanilla)

I asked about BCBS at an OTP-South ATL bottle shop today that doesn't do much craft beer, but does a ton of business with AB. The owner called his Bud distributor and was told they only have 5 cases of BCBS for the entire Atlanta area. Not sure how much stock to put in that info, since again... I was talking to a bottle shop that isn't really in the craft beer game. I'm not holding my breath for finding any in ATL.... hoping to pick some up while in Michigan over the Thanksgiving holiday.

That's complete and utter bullshit. No brewery has ever sent that little of any beer to any State, there's no point in it. All that would do is piss off every single person in the beer industry. Distributors can't break cases, so there'd be either five accounts getting a single case, or one account getting all five, either way it'd be ridiculous to send so little. If that was really true they'd send it elsewhere.
Barleywine last year was a big shipment, I think 200 cases made it's way to the metro area alone. The premium accounts got at least ten cases, lesser places 3-4 easily. We will see both here and in more quantity than five cases.

Still no clue at all who in Tampa or Pinellas is getting Vanilla. Total Wine and ABC are fucking useless.

I hope so. Went to TW St. Pete today and they said they're definitely getting the other 3 but Vanilla has some other message in their system. Like waiting on vendor info or something. He said last year they did not get Backyard.

I sure hope so. Maybe he meant 5 cases for south ATL accounts. We don't have any of what I would call a "premium account" down this way, so us poor saps on the south side never get much of the good stuff. I don't think I saw any BCBBW down here last year when it hit heavy around ATL. I picked up a 4-pack at HopCity, sitting on top of about 5 cases.

The person did say Atlanta, and not the whole state. Still I think that you're right about that amount being off. Tower has announced they are getting it and I'm sure total wine will as well. That would account for all of those cases and shut out other major retailers in Atlanta like Green's and Hop City.

Green's gets the largest allotment of any new release. Tower and Total Wine are second. Following them, Ale Yeah! Decatur, Hop City, Mink's, Toco Giant, and a host of others all get good to decent quantities. Rarely do any distributors divide up a release fairly, but in the case of BA Narwhal, every account got a single case. That way it was a fair playing field for everyone. This release won't be like that, and word from my rep is whatever he gets he will divide it evenly across all his accounts, but I'm sure a lot of reps in other areas won't want the hassle and just drop the majority at their premium accounts so they're not having to deal with everyone individually.

Catch 22 announced that they will have BCBS on draft on black friday so it would seem that some kegs are coming as well.
