You know, I just can't get my head around this. Why make so few of those glasses? Isn't there a min of like 1000 glasses for a printed order? Secondly, GI is now owned by Inbev one of the biggest in the biz right? They would love to make even more money on the glasses, seeing that they're such greedy slobs looking to turn out crappy beer for a huge profit, still me scratches me head about this.

Jesus dude, if you want one that badly just find a glassmaker who'll make you them in qty 12. I'm sure it's just a design on a Libbey glass, ought to be simple enough to find someone who'll do it.

No, but it's definitely cheaper per unit to order in bulk.

See, the problem is that you dramatically overestimate the market for this glass. We're not the craft beer public at large; we're the 1%ers. You make reference to pro sports merchandising, but the flaw with that argument is that there are probably more fervent Dallas Cowboys fans than people on Earth that know BCBS exists. I'm sure AB-InBev knows that their labor money is much better spent on another publicity rep hyping 312 in new markets than the piddly profit that selling a thousand BCBS glasses would rake in.

Furthermore, these 'commemorative' glasses have always been used by Goose as an incentive for people to buy tickets to their events, and the BCBS snifter is no exception. I know of at least a few people who went to the Black Friday event at least partially to have the glass. Did they go solely for the glass? No, but it probably just enough incentive to pull the trigger on a $75 flight of beer.

Does anyone know when Goose Island is supposed to get the snifters to those of us who were in the sessions where the glasses weren't available? I was in the 6pm session and they made us all right our info down. I guess I just need to be patient but I can't wait for my snifter.

As far as I know they were supposed to be contacting you, no?

Going to the Black Friday event to go solely for the glass? Absolutely not. At least partially to have the glass? Incentive enough to pull the trigger? Oh, alright, guilty as charged...

As far as the glasses go, if I were Goose, I'd design a publicly available BCBS snifter and then have "exclusive" glasses for events. Think about have many variations there are: different designs, different colored graphics, different style glasses. They could offer something ritzy for the exclusive event glasses. For example offer a glass with gold graphics and lettering with a gold rim. Piddly profit, yes, but profit nonetheless and you're giving at least a segment of your customers exactly what they want.

I was in the 6pm session as well and was at GI Clybourn on Saturday. I spoke with the hostess about the glasses and she said that they were supposed to be getting them in sometime this week and they would start contacting people as they arrived.

I know this is a bit off topic, but if I were to offer up vintage Fou Foune, do you think I could find someone willing to trade one of their BCBS snifters?

Has anyone figured out what company the snifter is from? I could buy one and go to the mall and have one made by those sticker guys?

    Cheers!

Update for the 10AM and 6PM people. This in response to a message I sent today: 'Thanks for taking the time to contact us. We received word this week that we won't be receiving the rest of our order until January now. We're bummed about it too. A member of our staff should be contacting you after this busy holiday weekend to make sure we have the correct info to get you your glass as quickly as possibly once we get the order! Thanks for all your patience. Cheers.'
