Black Friday Bourbon County release

It was on a little sign on the front of the display and the barleywines are not out on the floor.

 

Ah, they did that after I was there. Both beers were on the floor yesterday morning and nothing was posted.

 

Are there any kegs in NH? I haven't heard of anything yet.

 

Nope. Friday night tried both Luke's in Falmouth & Windmill in Orleans (I'd gotten BCBS at Windmill in past years) - no dice.

Seems that the Cape gets their shipments (for stores that get BCBS) a week after most folks in MA.

 

Looking for some BA help.

My local shop in So Maine offered two bottles to me today that I was told weren't picked up by a friend.

One was a Bourbon Coffee 2016.

The other was a 2015 BCBS Oct 6, 2015. Dated on the neck as 2015. I didn't notice until I looked tonight.

Now this isn't something I was made aware of or would've even checked on. As far as I've seen the 2015 Oct 6th was not listed as infected but has anyone had other findings? Also was this just someone trying to slip an old turd/infected? They aren't the kind of place that would have any leftover and I would hope it wasn't the employee selling old stash. Normally a reputable place. But I also would assume people wouldn't sell a 2015 bcbs, if it's not infected and for $9.99? Any help appreciated. More perplexed then anything.

I think Kappy's Falmouth may have been the only store on Cape to get any. There's a chance more could show up next week, but I'm not holding my breath considering there's less to go around this year.

 

There are some 2015's with 2016 neck tag reports coming in at a good clip. I wouldnt put anything past anyone.

 

So one of the barleywine's a bought Friday is only 2/3s full. Has anyone experienced something like this before? I doubt i can get a replacement from the store, i didnt even keep my receipt and they're probably sold out. Should i contact goose island or am i just a bit unlucky and should stop worrying about my first world problem?

Just to follow-up, Hugh O'Neill's was solid. Had the flight of the '13 through '16, and then I split a 5 oz. sample of the Vietnamese Speedway with a buddy. That flight packed quite the punch at 5 oz. per sample, otherwise I would have had a full draft of the Vietnamese, or at least just a sample to myself.

Then it was off to Idle Hands and Nightshift. Great day, also a long day.

Hmm, I had no idea Goose Island listed which dates were infected (or is this self-reported online?). I'll have to check the 2015 bottle I picked up from Pemberton Farms (thanks @woodfinish for the heads up). I debated for awhile whether or not to snag the 2015 due to the infections, but I figured what the heck, why not?

How would you know a 2016 tag was put on a 2015 bottle?

 

I'm thinking the neck tag was one date and maybe they label had the correct one?

 

The bottles are dated.

The liquor store by the Stop & Shop and Ace Hardware, Olde Bedford Package Store.

 

Ah, cool, thanks for the heads up. I likely won't swing by unless they randomly have Coffee. I highly doubt they will though.

 

I might head by on my way home, but all I really want is a Coffee. I have a couple Barleywines and half a dozen Bourbons.

 

Yes! The rest of the Family was up North with Relatives, so it was a great day to acquire some great beer. Plus, going to Redstone is always nice, easily one of the prettiest stores I've been in.

 

I am a fan, they get me for a bottle of wine with that tasting station pretty much every time.
