I have no clue but Binny's in Chicago just released their allocations for BCBS and it was a lot more than years past:

    5 - BCBS
    3 - BCBW
    2 - BCBCS
    2 - Prop
    1 - Northwoods
    1 - Reserve Brand Stout

Two theories: 1. they are giving large allocations to Chicago to thank their fans for putting up with past problems 2. they made a shit load of bourbon county this year which hopefully means we receive a larger allocation.

What spots does everyone usually hit up? This'll be my first black Friday that I can actually go beer hunting. Due to my hectic work schedule, I am never off on a Friday. Just trying to get tips from the people that have done it in the past.
    Where do you go?
What time do you line up?
    Any supplies needed?
    Etc.

Specs Smith Street is your best bet for a full allocation (all variants). Once we have a better idea of the allocation people will determine when to show up. Previous years have been more limited so people have been showing up the night before and early in the morning.

This is your best bet and if the wait gets longer, like it has been doing, the line will start Thursday night.

I knew to expect Specs Smith St., but I want to say that Hay Merchant might've had something last year. Can't really remember. Does anyone remember previous years?

This year - Hay Merchant has begun serving "mixed drinks" that contain vodka, rum, etc.

Texas law does not allow restaurants to sell bottles to go when hard liquor is also being served at the establishment.

Im wondering how/if HM will participate this year?

Probably just run the usual sales but for on site consumption only. Just a guess.

That definitely makes sense, but is also a complete downer.

I purposefully went there last year on BF to successfully secure their Jester King bottles. I still have it in my fridge aging further and awaiting a special occasion.

I couldnt imagine having to crack that open on-site and drink.

What did you pick up there last year?

Just my speculation but, I wonder if the choice to not sell certain breweries impacted their bottom line enough to bring in liquor. It was a kick in the nuts watching this happen. A top notch beer bar that can no longer serve beer to go.

Aside from not being allowed to sell to-go, Hay Merchant will not sell ABI products. I wouldn't expect to see any BCBS there.

Yeah, I remember when Karbach sold out and how quickly they reacted to the news. I don't expect to see any beer that's sold out to big beer there.

Besides BCBS, what are other beers that are black Friday releases?

AFAIK, BCBS is the only regular release. I don't think any other breweries have a regular releases beer that day. Depends on what's ready.

Eureka Heights is doing a thing. Details posted on their Twitter.

I don't want to chase or stand in line. I just want to meet some friends at a brewery that might have something different on tap.
