Kind of weird that other Spec's were charging more. Downtown Houston had the 4 packs at $18.29 and Vanilla was $23 something if I remember right. Good luck to those still chasing it.

Everywhere I went today in Austin/Round Rock was selling 4-packs. Could have probably had a case of each if I was looking for regular or barleywine (no coffee seemed to make it down here).

San Antonio - there are two cases of BCBS at the Babcock/Huebner HEB, sitting on a shelf completely untouched. No limit that I'm aware of. Go get them Inbev whalez, bruh.

Got the reg and barley wine with ease. Looking forward to the coffee making it down here as that is my fav. Would like to get the vanilla rye but I'm not planning on going nuts to get it.

    price fluctuations like whoa.

~$18/4 pack at specs, $4.99/bottle at central market, $7.99/bottle at whole foods post oak... lulz.

getting some at post oak, the two dudes who were first in line to get 2 bw, 2 stout, checked out, saw the prices and turned around and asked if i wanted their four barleywines....

    (indeed.)

This happened at the Bandera/1604 heb. My friend was behind me and then a guy walks up with the case and says "amateurs" haha
Then two other guys with about 6 4 packs and one BW that was apparently the last one and reserved in the back.[IMG]

I hate living in a small town. Won't be in SA till Monday and will try and sniff out any scraps. Last year i was able to score two-4 packs, we will see this year.

Try the smaller HEBs. If Babcock got it, I'm willing to bet some of the other low tier stores did too.

That's really weird. Spec's in Houston was charging $18.99 a 4pack and $22.99 for vanilla. They charged more than that in Dallas?

Here's what I got in Asheville (no Vanilla at all for GA or NC):

Of the free bottles, two each of the coffee and barleywine are 2014; the rest are 2013.

    (yes i'm still here)

As a rule, I never drink a stout until it has at least a 1/8" of closet dust.

Yeah, I keep reading "let it age" because of strong vanilla and/or alcohol. I'm thinking fresh would be best. Going to crack mine open tomorrow for the games. I should be good and buzzed after that last sip.

ugh, got in line at specs downtown in houston at 1:30am or so and ran around to different stores afterwards, only to find out they were getting bcbs and bcbbw only. bunker hill was the only store i knew of that got bcbcs, i've heard that heights kroger had some as well. other than that, vanilla is no where to be found. i picked up a case of bcbs from a kroger, so ended up with 9x bcbs, 3x bcbcs, 3x bcbbw and 2x bcbvr.

specs cellar sale wasn't as crazy as it was last year, lots of fsw and avery stuff with 512 5, peach sour and black crack mixed in. had fun with my houston crew in line though, by the time 7 am came around and the sun came out we all started to get a bit delirious.

I didn't leave the house until noon and did well (in FW) I think I got 3-4 coffee and no BW (I have a lot from last year) however most everywhere was selling 4 packs of regular BCBS which is okay by me. It's actually my favorite so I'm happy to not have to try hard to get it. Some of the bottles have mold on them and I was surprised they were bottled in early August. I heard there's 3 different ABV's this year. I found the 13.8% and 14.4% around here but haven't had them side by side. I will say this year is the smoothest right out of the gate

Case Price is $105 so what Specs was charging is not outrageous.
