On a whim, I dropped by a local store yesterday (Tuesday, December 2nd) and they still had 4 packs of the barleywine, so I picked one up. Also got a 4 pack of Goose Island The Muddy, which I had never seen anywhere before. Hope it's good.

My neighborhood bottle shop will often save me special releases for being a "regular," so I went by around 11:30 on black Friday to try my chances. Figured they would probably just get regular BCBS being a small shop. Happened to arrive right as the delivery was getting there. One other guy waiting and in comes a case of coffee, case of barley wine and 10 cases of regular. Dude starts opening the cases and says, you want one of each? Damn right I do! He was charging $29.99 each so a bit of a rip but at least I managed to snag 4 bottles each of coffee, bw and regular for just under $100... They quickly hid the cases out of sight and as I was leaving, I hear him telling the next guy that walks in (customer #3) that he's only got enough left to sell him one 4-pack of the black (regular). Not exactly sharing the love but I felt lucky and walked home with a big grin

waited in line for release. my spot in line (fourth) netted me 3 bottles of regular, 1 bottle of barleywine, 1 of coffee. 12 bottles of vanilla were raffled off amongst the 60 or so people in the store. I was not a winner, which left me disappointed. I contemplated seeing if anyone on here would be willing to trade a bottle of Vanilla Rye for a bottle of 2014 Parabola 1 for 1. How is it? I've encountered a lot of people saying the mouth feel was very thin and that the vanilla flavor tasted kind of syrupy and artificial.
