What type of distro does Black Husky have throughout Wisconsin? Are they available in any surrounding states as well?
He self distributes. The primary market is Milwaukee but you can find it between MKE and Pembine in places like Green Bay, Appleton and Sheboygan. He's relocating and expanding the brewery to Milwaukee so I imagine distribution is going to get wider. Not sure if that includes surrounding states or not.
Limited in Wisconsin. It's listed on their site. When I make beer runs to Kenosha from Chicago, I pick some up at Tenuta's.
MKE: Otto's on Oakland, Downer, Thief Wine @ the Market, Discount, Ray's for bottles (maybe a few more I don't know about). You can find it on tap regularly at Uber Tap, Stubby's, and Pizza Man, many other bars too.
You can find it as far south as Kenosha. Tenuta's Deli in Kenosha has a variety of Black Husky. EDIT: Missed jsrose's post
Thanks guys. I have a friend that lives in Milwaukee and I'll be seeing him the first week of January. I'll see if he can grab some for me.
Their barley wine is insane super dark tons of molasses and brown sugar. Reminds me a lot of "our finest regards" from pretty things if you ever had that one. One of the best regular barley wines I've had in recent memory.
Just be sure to check in the coolers when you are looking for them. They won't be on the shelves because they tend to explode if not kept refrigerated. He's pulled out of one store (at least) because they did not have refrigerated space to keep the beer.
