Are you saying that AB and BT Black Magick have low trade value?

I think he was referring to regular black magick, which if im not misinformed is quite hard to come by, but no not low trade value, just not as much as the PvW version.

but if that was the case Id offer up a PvW BM for BT and AB bm 2:1 anytime.

Kapkenobi Mornin delight is not even a BA beer. You would have to compare BCBCS to KBBS. I have had both and in my opinion KBBS is better but not by much. But that is just my opinion.

Agreed. Bottles from the last release (2011) aren't easy to find.

Wow, it's been like... 2 or 3 days since the last beer that people insisted "but, no, really, this is the best beer I have ever had and totally lives up to the hype".

This one does though, in all seriousness. I can't speak to KBBS since I haven't had the chance to try it (and likely won't until the next batch when the crazyness calms down a little), but a group of us were splitting a couple bottles, and when we got to PvW Black Magick, as soon as we all tried it, the whole table kind of stopped and looked around like "I'm not crazy...this is really that good, right?". Granted, I only had about 1.5-2oz, and I don't know if you can make a "best thing ever!!!" review based on that pour size, but damn it was good.

The PvW Black Magick really is a delicious beer. BT is pretty good, I haven't opened my Apple Brandy version yet, but they are all worth seeking out

This is exactly what happened when we tasted our first one. Everyone stopped and sat there speechless for a bit and then we all went wow that is good.

That's funny since that's almost exactly what happened to us. We had AB first, took a break, had BT, same thing. Both times we were like damn these are good. Then we had PVW BM and didn't say anything just looked at each other like "yeah, that's what's up right there."

It's funny, my group all took a drink, made a face, and once we could speak said " this is the sweetest beer ever. Literally diabetes in a bottle". Then most of us rated it a 3.5.

That's because you're from Iowa. TG hype ingrained in the membrane lol.

But honestly, I have no idea how. I didn't even find it very sweet, and you're in the minority obviously. It tasted perfectly balanced between a rich body, smooth bourbon, nice roast, chocolate, and a little vanilla. I look forward to reviewing it next time my group opens a bottle. Later that night I tried Black Tuesday and could only drink an ounce. I could've chugged this all day (and then had my stomach pumped to survive).

Except it is pretty well known that I don't hype TG at all. You can check my scores on their beers to see that. I couldn't get MD or KBBS either.:slight_frown:

+1 on this exact same feeling from me and a few guys in my tasting group. I still enjoyed it and wish I had more...but a few ounces was plenty with that sweetness.

It was nothing compared to even Chocolate Rain in the sweetness department...

There are way sweeter stouts out there.

Just about every Bruery beer and all the TG beers are sweeter than PVW black magick. I opened 2 of mine yesterday at a tasting and confirmed my love once again.

Thanks for sharing those, bud. Truly. With what I'd heard people trumpeting about the beer, I'd expected it to be good, but not that good. Very pleasant surprise indeed. Enjoyable experience for certain.

Finally had Rare tonight and I can honestly say PVW BM blows it away easily. Reaffirmed my love for it and realized we can never trade the last couple bottles we have, so not trying to inflate value. I wish we knew when they might make it again. I doubt this new barrel room release will include it, but hopefully I'll be pleasantly surprised...
