Black Note in MN

While I do agree it would be nice to see these at the actual retail price. I have spent $16 dollars in the past month on worse bombers ( Im looking at you Boulevard Chocolate Ale)

 

Based on what I saw on BA today, it cost more at the Bell's general store in MI than it did at some of the stores here: $6.99/single, $23.99 4 pk, $130.99/case + tax

 

Haskells in St. Paul had 5 4 packs left after I picked up my 4 pack
they're charging $5.99/bottle...which seems to be the cheapest based on the responses here.
Apparently liquor boy is charging $7.99/bottle and they had some as of half hour ago

 

Thank god that have this on tap on a semi regular basis.

 

Thats what you get for buying something that says 'chocolate ale'

And yes, you can do much worse for $16, but still...that doesnt help me swallow that pill at all.

 

Anyone seen this in the South Metro at all?

 

I'm always the contrarian on this, but that's what happens when companies sell their product for well below the market value. This beer would probably sell out fast at $10/bottle. The reality is that most good limited beers are priced well below what people are willing to pay for them. Simple supply and demand.

That said, I also long for the days when I could pick up dusty bottles of BCBS months after release.

 

Went to a couple places last night and nothing. Think it'll just be one I miss out on.

 

I noticed it's been a weird distro with some stores getting it last and some I normally would know get their shipment on Mondays aren't expecting it till next week, etc. So keep your hopes up

 

Yeah, I'll be checking a few places today. Usually downtown Haskell's is pretty good for stuff like this but they didn't have any.

 

Someone in the Bells General Store thread is claiming that the MN distributor screwed up and released it early. Not sure if it is true, but interesting. They said it forced Bell's to release it at the General Store yesterday while they were hosting Ober day.

 

It's supposed to be April 1st everywhere is my understanding (although like you said you never know with distributors). I know the local distributor here already has their stock and are just waiting for the 1st.

 

I wonder if the distributor was told by Bells to stop delivering Black Note and now stores that didn't get early distribution will need to wait until next week. Hopefully MN doesn't get shorted in the future like it seems GI did with BCBS for some reason.

 

This is going to be an expensive beer week, Black Note, Before the Dawn and KBS, good thing there's Saga

$6/bottle BN = 1.83333333 blacknotes per 12 pack
$7/bottle BN = 1.571428571428
$8/bottle BN = 1.375 BN's per 12 pack.
