I just picked up a bottle at Whole Foods in Montrose.

I thought it was pretty disappointing/forgettable. We split it once at a small bottle share, but if I had been the one who had paid that much for it, I would have been pissed.

He still had some Vertical in the back, but sold out of the Black Ops quick.

Yep. I agree with Matt completely. The yeast is just misplaced. The stout itself is plenty nice and good oily aftertaste but the yeast over powers the barrel and sticks through the aftertaste. Coming on the heels of Bishops Barrel and BCBS this was a forgettable in every way but the pocket.

Again happy to try it once. If someone else stores it for a few years and pops a bottle ill try it again otherwise I'm underwhelmed and would rather buy 3 4-packs of their BCS

Bottled on 10/11. Pours very foamy. Taste is pretty much all barrel with some dark roast malt undertones. Mouthfeel is well, light and airy. Sounds funny but it is practically a nonexistant feel in the mouth. I received this bottle in a trade and I believe it is worth maybe $14-15 at the most.

Good to hear that the yeast takes a back seat after awhile

It sucks fresh. Gotta put it in the closet for a couple years. Then it'll be about half as good as fresh Parabola. I still bought 2 bottles. :astonished:

Anyone in Dallas get this? I'm thinking it might not make it up here this year. I've called every place and no one has it.
