Got inspired by this post the other night and made one using Almanac's offerings.

It tasted like an unusually refreshing Biere de Chocolat and smelled like honey. I like them better separate though.

Black & Tan cannot be duplicated/manufactured, it is indeed an experiment & a good one as beauty is in the eye of the beholder...the beholder can make the blend to fit their taste. Bottled versions are a serious Meh...

I did a Boneyard Notorious + Boneyard Suge Knight black & tan the other night, just couldn't resist when I saw them both on tap!

I did hopslam and a bourbon county one night. Would have enjoyed both beers more separately

I got a device called a Brolly from Bass a few years ago which is a refined rendition of the upside down spoon. They had a video on line how to pour a perfect B&T and they were specific use Guiness with a nitro widget or it wouldn't work. Worked very well.

What I do is this, and it works:
Using a pint glass I quickly pour 6 to 8 ozs of IPA (Bass or whatever) in the glass so that you get a good head. Then quickly start pouring your Stout (Guinness or whatever) into a ladle type spoon; letting the Stout gently overflow the edge onto the head of the IPA. Pour about 4 ozs. letting it flow out of ladle slowly keeps it separated.

Only half kidding, but really. I have never been able to find it, and it's something that I've wanted to try for some time now!

Exactly what I tried, sadly the two beers I used must have the same density.
