I still have a couple bottles of Bruery Black Tuesday in my cellar. 2009-2013. Couple questions. Are these still drinkable and if so, do they hold any trade value? I've sort of lost my taste for heavy beers.

In general I would say the market for old stouts and the Bruery is pretty small.

I have randomly heard from a couple sources however, that the original black Tuesday was holding up well, if it was cellared properly. This was probably a couple years ago.

Opened up a 2009 BT in October and it was drinking nicely considering the age. Held up much better than the Gold Wax Assassin which was also opened that night IMO.

Not sure what the value is. Imagine it’ll be like most old beers and need the right set of eyes.

I have been very impressed with aged Black Tuesday. Had a 2010 in 2020 and it was great! Big market? Probably not.

Likewise. Went to an incredible stout event in Baltimore back in 2011, and there were 5 or 6 vintages of Black Tuesday to taste. All of them were excellent, though the oldest one (around 10 years old) was starting to fade just a bit. Older bottles had something of a chocolate cocoa puffs flavor that I thought was pretty delicious.

Very impressive, very age worthy beer.

John, that might have been The Abyss vertical we drank - 2011 was only the 3rd Black Tuesday release.

I had a 2011 Black Tuesday in the Fall and it was really excellent.

It was definitely a Black Tuesday vertical, but I could have been off on the dates. It was some years ago now.
