Black Tuesday will be sold to the world on October 30th, the final Tuesday of the month of October.

Sales will be online and will begin at 10am PST.

The web domain for the sale is http://BT.thebruery.com

You will be able to purchase 2 bottles of Black Tuesday.

    Bottles are $30 each.

There are some nice quotes at the bottom of the page from our very own.

Interesting how the max amount of bottles dropped from 3 last year to 2 this year. More for everyone?

Probably each RS member got 2 and could buy 5 more plus more than 1300 RS members way more than last year.

These are the numbers as I understand them. (Might be right on that 700 in 2011 though, in which case the number would adjust down 350)

2011 RS, 750 members, 7 bottles each (if all purchased) = 5,250 bottles to RS
2012 RS, 1,350 members, 7 bottles each (if all purchased) = 9,450 bottles to RS

They made quite a bit more, and yes the RS did get allocated the same as last year, but it came out to more due to the increase in members (obviously) however, imo, I think the option to go 2 per in the general sale is to allow more people access to it. Also, it seems the Bruery is also blending BT more (per 2013 RS bottle lists) and beers like Brown Creeper on draft in the tasting room (though the BT portion in that is pretty light) so perhaps that also has something to do with it.

not to mention the addition/increase in BT variants available to RS members (Chocolate Rain and Grey Monday) and blended beers (Melange #3)

They should make RS members ineligible.

I'm going to be bathing in this stuff before everything's said and done.

why should RS members be ineligible? Just because we paid more to be part of the society does not mean we should be excluded. I would understand your point if they went with the free membership they talked about last year, but not since the RS members paid to be in it.

note: as an RS member I am not going to be buying more... only do to trying to save money, otherwise I would be

Share the love, nano. 7 bottles isn't enough .

Plus, if they wanted RS members to buy more, they have access to a mechanism for releasing BT to RS members only. I think it builds good will for the brewery for the general public to have a crack at it.

Lots of RS members are splitting the cost/bottles from this year's RS with 1-2 other folks. I wouldn't be surprised to see an uptick in members buying more BT this year in the public sale over last year.

I don't know what kinda of bathtub you guys have, but 3.5 bottles of the 'Tues hardly gets mine to the 1/3 mark. Pretty weak if it's not at least 2/3 when I get in.

with the open sale they are not "wanting" the RS to get more, they are just not excluding them. I would guess the majority of RS members will not buying more.

The general public does have a crack at it, and based on last years sale and the expect increase in volume PLUS the lower limit, I would guess if you are part of the general public and make a good effort, you should be able to get bottles. Just don't log on 8hrs later and be shocked they sold out, just be ready near the beginning.

    p.s. I am not getting 7, I split my RS membership. I wish I was getting 7 (or 9 ) , I love BT.

so just to be clear, all we do is click that link starting at 10am on that date and black tuesday will be available for purchase? no signing up for anything prior or anything like that? And they hold it at the brewery for pick up?

This is why being in the RS is worth it: 7 bottles, no sitting nervously by the computer.

Yes, I realize "worth it" is a term I use only in reference to how I feel about the "worth" of the RS.

Sorry I am asking the obvious, but is this open to the general public? I would just need my trustee (in place for hopes of joining RS next year) to pick up and ship?

You were supposed to keep it a secret. Now everyone knows :slight_frown:

I plan on buying at least one, I'll be sitting at my computer at 11:59pm on Oct 29th. Hopefully I can save enough to splurge on two. I live in AZ but luckily my lady is from CA and we'll be visiting for Turkey Day anyway, so I can pick mine up.
