it's not clear to me if OP has had CBS before or not.

if black tuesday were my top want, i had drank a bottle of CBS already, and i had another bottle of CBS, then i'd definitely trade it. if no one took my trade, no big deal.

i mean, while black tuesday isn't the rarest beer in the world, we're not talking about a beer that you're going to be able to trade for by grabbing a few abyss next time it gets released. you (probably) have the ammo now, it's a top want of yours... what else is there to consider?

...unless you haven't had CBS yet. in which case, why gamble on a trade?

Thanks for the replies. As I have not had CBS yet, I will share it and the rest of my fledgling cellar with friends when my wife gives birth to our first in 2 mos. I will try and come across the Black Tuesday at a later date, some other way.

It should be about supply and demand, not $4$....with that said...give it a shot!

I traded an extra CBS for my first BT straight up.

8 out of 10 will bitch about the faded maple/coffee... 1 will say it's better... 1 will say it's fine! Being that you never had the Founder's before, drink the CBS now... you'll always be able to grab a fresh BT in the future.

i traded a few black tuesday for a few CBS; seemed lopsided in my favor honestly as i do not care for black tuesday and the bruery is only going to churn out more black tuesday year after year.

Basically those that still have bottles a year from now will say its still great, while those that don't will say the coffee and maple are totally gone and it has become regular Founder IS.

i'm sure the truth is a mix of both. the maple and coffee really will fade (if not completely), but the beer is going to be amazing for at least 2~ years.

As others have noted, you can trade CBS for Black Tuesday, straight up. I've done it a few times, nothing is impossible...just need to find an interested trader. However, if you have not had CBS yet though, I would say drink it and look to acquire a BT with other means.

I think they are definately at Parity. I have about 5 BT's and 3 CBS left but if the counts were reversed I would trade a BT for a CBS

CBS for Black Tuesday will get done, no questions asked. The beauty of trading beer is that you don't need everybody to think that the trade is worth it. You only need the person you are trading with to think that. So if 99/100 wouldn't do that trade, then it looks like you'll get the trade done since 1/100 would. That being said, CBS was bottled once, and Founder's hasn't made it clear that they would again. BT is released every year, and every year more bottles are made. Keep the CBS.
