My first can last year tasted what I imagine an Abrasive mixed with Darkness would taste like. It had the aggressive hop profile with a sweetness to it, I got none of that this year.

I thought I heard somewhere that they used different hops this year. Could explain the taste differences

Definitely tastes different than last. Year. I preferred last year's batch. It's pretty pricey, and I don't know if I'll grab more than a pint or two this year.

Last year it was Warrior, Centennial, Simcoe. This year it is Simcoe, El Dorado.

*sigh* Why ruin a good thing?

I agree - i liked the hop mix better last year.

It definitely has a different flavor this year. I didn't get any of the tropical goodness that I really enjoyed last year. I had a hard time pulling any flavors aside from black licorice. I'm glad I just had a pour at the beer hall rather than buying a four-pack.

Agreed. Had it on tap at the brewery yesterday. Won't be buying any 4-packs.

If a beer changes its hop bill that much should it even be called the same beer if the taste is noticeably different?

Does anyone know how long this will be on shelves/on tap? I will be in Minneapolis at the end of May and would love to try it.

If it is like last year, it will stick around on shelves well after May. I don't think you have anything to worry about.

Maybe I'm in the minority, but Blakkr is not what I want to drink on these warm sunny days we've been having. Todd the Axeman on the other hand...
