popped into marty's in newton and noticed a fresh batch of blatant ipa as well as a new blatant double ipa. @konabrewer can you shed any light on this new brew, similar to blatantone, or entirely new beer? can't beat the prices, $3.99 and $5.99 respectively.
Great price. I paid 6.99 for DIPA at Julio's. I had the IPA a week ago bottle dated April 2014. It lacked pop, I am thinking it was a bit past its prime.
So just to be clear. I am the not physically brewing BLATANT beers, as my focus is, and has been, on High Horse for the last 2 years. Very exciting times -- we are getting close to breaking ground on our new production brewer in Hadley!!! For BLATANT, I leave the brewing to the very capable hands at Brewmasters Brewing in Williamsburg. I go and see these guys every so often to check in, have a beer and hang. They have really taken BLATANT under their wings and I am proud to say they are brewing some excellent beer. In addition to their Opa line, they also happen to brew the Banner Beers which are quite good! As the Founder of BLATANT, I continue to be an advocate, beer conceptualizer, consultant, and overall guy who gives a shit… The Double IPA was bottled on June 3. I got a case and felt the balance was amazing. We are working on getting some more aroma in there for batch 2 and beyond. I was going to try and emulate what I did with BLATANTone, but could not get the hops necessary to do it right, so I re-worked the whole thing, both on the malt and hop side. Warrior, Chinook, Cascade, Palisade were used in this beer. BLATANTone was Sorachi Ace and Citra.
