Was out in Northampton yesterday and stopped by this new brewery. Seems like the folks at BLDG 8 get it.
Brew good beer and let the beer be the hype. Brewer worked for Northampton and Berkshire before BLDG8. Only one beer in cans at the moment but its a really nice West Coast IPA. Apparently the owner owns a bar in northampton and decided he should have a brewery. Sounds like a familiar story, this one is seems to already be working out better than the other bar owners brewery I've visited twice now and still don't get it.

Been wanting to try this IPA out, thanks for the post. Hopefully one'll make it into my hands in Cambridge soon haha

What's the can availability at the brewery? Are there days where it's tastings / growlers only?

I haven't been in about a month, but at least then, cans were readily available at the brewery. No growlers I think, but could be wrong. Free tastings of the beer - the one and only is an IPA.

So, took a couple cans of The IPA to share with a couple employees/volunteers after a day long telethon we produce. Also had a can of Heady and a can of Lawson's Sip of Sunshine. No complaints from anyone and it was super fresh so stood up well to some damn stiff competition.

Brewery is open Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday 3-7, and Saturday 10a-6p. They aren't doing growler fills--I think their plan all along is to do cans and draft lines only.

Just cans and samples no growlers. $12 per 4 pack or $64 for a case.

Do they limit how much you can buy? Anyone know what package stores in the West Springfield area carry it? Going to try Table & Vine first.

BLDG 8 does indeed make a tasty IPA. I should`ve bought more than 2 cans when recently passing though MA.

I'm not a huge IPA guy, but I liked this quite a bit. A really good beer. I can only do one at a time, so a four-pack is perfect!

I would love to try this but Northhampton MA might as well be on another planet

Haha, depends. It's like Portsmouth, NH, but in western Mass. Same vibe. Good food options, artsy. I love it.

They've had to limit purchases at the brewery to 2 4-packs per person--they sold out last weekend for the first time. I'm not sure if there are limits at the stores that carry it, though.

Shame. First two times I walked in, relaxed and brought a case. Hope they get busy, but not that busy.
