Wife and I tried that. It was pretty tasty. Probably would not have been wise to have one myself.

Figured it would taste like a chocolate covered cherry. I wasn't too far off.

I find that I do this somewhat often, and many times, I've come up with some good results! So, is this complete and absolute blasphemy? I don't know much about how this would be received by the larger BA beer community, or if anyone does this as well. I recently blended Firestone's Abacus with a 2010 Bigfoot, and, from my perspective, it is phenomenal. Anyhow, thought I'd get others' thoughts, and if others do it, what beers do you like to blend together?

My favorite blend is a splash of sweet lambic in a thick, chocolatey stout. Just a touch of tart sweet fruit really adds another dimension to a lot of beers.

Fruli and La Fin Du Monde make a nice Summer drink, or even Sam Smith Strawberry mixed with Blanche de Chambly works well.

Sounds interesting. I need to try that one.

Yeah, I like to blend my FBS with Root Beer and pour it into my bowl of Trix cereal. When I'm done, I'll cut my cold glass of milk with PT5. Hey, it's all about experimenting, right?

One of my friends likes to blend DFH Raison D'Etre with...Yuengling Porter.

And by Gawd, it works brilliantly, especially at a lower temperature.

I dig a blackish and not-quite-tan with Michelob Amber Bock and Old Milwaukee.

I am reading "Mild Ale: History, Brewing Techniques, Recipes" by David Sutula and he talks about the history of British Ale beginning with the ale poured in most pubs in Britain would have two types of ale: one aged for a long time and therefore has bacterial infection sour flavors, the other brand new and fresh and sweeter. The brewer's would deliver the two butts (large casks) and the bar tender would pour them himself together.

I got curious about this because at the taproom in Decorah for Toppling Goliath the locals try a half pour of this mixed with something else all the time. One example is Naughty Nugget that I remember.

I know Alpine offers blends of their ales but they're so damn good on their own I don't feel the need to mix them.

Ive heard of mixing beer but have not given it a shot yet. Supposedly Dogfish Head Heaven and Hell is quite tasty but both beers are so good on their own why would anyone want to mix them?! :astonished:

I kinda don't like the idea, just because the brewers put in so much effort coming up with the final product...

that being said, this thread got me thinking of sucks + nugget nectar..... hmmmmm

I blended a glass of 3F Hommage and Midnight Sun Berserker recently (ya, I was kinda drunk). It tasted pretty good ...but even better was the thought that I'm probably the only one that ever has, or ever will taste that combination.

    Yep, supercoolstorybro. :sunglasses:

I tried blending Evil Twin Imperial Biscotti Break with DFH 75 minute IPA and the evil twin just ended up dominating. I think 1/5 evil twin and 4/5 75 minute might work out better as apposed to 50/50.
