If you can obtain either of them, mix Terrapin Wake-N-Bake with Moo-Hoo, and thank me later. :sunglasses:

I've got a few Vivant Plow Horse (belgian stout) cans that I'm not totally in love with. I got to thinking about how much I like Baller Stout, which is a blend of several. So... I'm considering blending these PHs with other stouts. Anyone have any recommendations on what is (or might be) good to blend with these guys? Ideally I'd like to reduce the sweetness and increase carbonation. Heck, maybe a black IPA might be an interesting addition.

I've only ever done this once and it was by accident.Poured 2/3 of a FFF Alpha King into a glass that had 1/3 of Founders Backwoods Bastard. Was actually pretty pleased by the result.

Just wondering if any of you guys have come up with any delicious beers by mixing two together. A few friends and I did a PTE vs Heady side by side tasting a few weeks back and after we enjoyed a little of each we mixed a little of the two together and let me tell you, it was by far and away the most delicious thing I have ever tasted. Anyone else try anything good or is this frowned upon?

So that was the disturbance I felt in the force?!

Just kidding, of course, and nah it's not frowned upon. I tend to enjoy smoked beers blended with double-stouts. It's also popular to blend fruit beers with stouts.

I frown upon it. Not that I think it's bad just because I've never had a mixed beer that was greater than the sum of it's parts. If you like a mix, go for it.

Black Tuesday with De Cam Special was lovely, way better than Black Tuesday on its own.
Blackberry Albert with Timmermans blend of pure lambiek was great as well.

not two beers, but adding a little bit of espresso or very strong coffee to stouts almost always tastes good. Sometimes in the morning i'll do it with FBS for a real good beginning to my day.

PumKing mixed with any decent stout is very nice indeed.

I really did enjoy the Warlock I thought it had a nice touch to it, the pumpkin wasn't too overpowering just subtle. I haven't tried mixing any stouts yet but maybe that's what I'll try next. I've got some Gandhi Bot, Zombie Dust, and Hopslam in the fridge so debating mixing 2 of those together to see what I can come up with.

At CCB they have what they call the Holiday (at least that is what the bartender called it) They mix Good Gourd with Mashall Zhukov. HOLY SHITBALLS---dam good.

I have also mixed DFH 120 with World Wide stout, that was really good.

We had a Terrapin night at my local WOB and I got the last pour of Cin WnB and the wife was not happy so I poured some in her glass thinking that is what she was drinking. She had the WC MH in her glass and the 2 toghether was very good.

Never seen the attraction in mixing beers myself. I don't mix two different types of whisky or wine - same goes for beer.

A nice combo is a pumpkin ale with angry orchard cider. Want to kick it up add a shot of Fireball.

I have a couple of shelf turds in the 'frig that I want to try to knock-out this weekend to open up some more space. Unable to drink these beers straight up anymore. What will be good beers to blend with them?

1.Ballast Point Indra Kunindra (coming up on the best-by date here in week or so, 2013 bottle). Any suggestions to neutralize to some extent the spices to make it more drinkable?

    2. Southern Tier Creme Brulee (the recent release but this has shelf turd written all over it). Any suggestions to neutralize the sugary sweetness and the butterscotch smell?

    Thanks in advance!

For the Indra Kunindra, you could almost do like a chutney addition. Get a french press, some banana and a touch of lemon. Add a bit of the beer and allow to steep in the banana/lemon mixture. Then pour the strained mixture into a glass of the IK...should cut the spice a bit and probably make it more enjoyable

Blend the Creme Brulee with an IPA. The bitterness will cut through the sweetness nicely.
