Every year when all the pumpkin seasonal beers start coming out my friend's and I grab a different sixer each one weekend and watch a lot of football. It inevitably ends with us mixing a few. Some work out, some...don't. Pumpkick doesn't always play well with others, FYI.

Also, Chimay Grand Reserve and Cantillon Kriek was a solid combo back in Brussels where they were both cheap and readily available.

If we can include blending beer with other types of alcohol:
-Ten Fidy with an ounce of Carpano Antica and an ounce of Campari is the dark chocolate cherry beer that I've always wanted.

-French 75 with kriek or framboise substituting for the bubbly is always fun.

-SNPA poured over an ounce of gin, juice of half a lemon, half an ounce of simply syrup, grapefruit bitters, and a sprig of rosemary makes a kick-ass, heavy-hitting shandy.

Rubaeus with New Glarus Berliner. Probably 60% berliner to 40% Rubaeus. I found it to be great, best way I've had Rubaeus and it may make me get some more to try with other beers.

I tried to go through a New Glarus Belgian Red myself but the sweetness overpowered me. I love NG offerings but usually do best with sharing. So I dropped a 1/4 glass of 'Gansett Del's Shandy into a 3/4 glass of Belgian Red and it lightened the sweetness and gave it a nice lemon tart finish to offset the powerful cherry flavors. Obviously it's better by itself but it was a fun way to finish the 750ml.

Hell yeah. It's awesome...as long as you have super low standards and are in need of a cheap BCBS fix.

I don't ever mix two whole beers, but on a pretty regular basis, my girlfriend and I will each get a different beer, and we will mix the last few sips. That way, we get to try each beer on its own, and then try a new creation.

Best blend I have come up with lately was Vivant Escoffier 2011 + Almanac Valley of The Hearts Delight.

The dryness of Escoffier balanced out the over the top thickness of the Almanac.

No joke I am doing this shortly. It's the dream.

Anyways, DFH 90 Minute with a splash of white wine does the trick.
