Other than Black and Tans , how would a Heady and Bcbs work out, an expensive glass of beer or two.

Just drink something palate-numbing like a Hopslam first, then you won't be able to taste the sub-par or past their prime beers. This method can also be used to take care of any spoiled milk you might have lying around.

Seriously though, if you can't drink a beer straight, just cook with it. You can use pretty much any beer to add to a soup, sauté onions, boil brats, or put in a beer batter and it will turn out decent.

I have tried blending some oude gueuze (cantillon bio) at about 80% with about 20% of a hoppy pale ale (like HF). The result is really good with a lot of aromatic hops and a balance going toward acidity instead of bitterness.

I mean really, if you can use beers that have that "L" word in them in food, a slightly out-of-date IPA should do just fine....

The creme brulee mixed with Seadog blueberry wheat ale makes a beer far greater than the sum of it's parts. Not sure what to do w/ Ballast Point Indra Kunindra as it's got a lot of bold flavors already.
I tried Backwoods Bastard with some Expedition Stout and enjoyed the results, but I wouldn't say it was better than the individual beers. Holy City's Pluff Mud porter mixed with their Collision Stout was very tasty, and the brewery approved of this concoction.

I like blending IPAs with spicy beers as of late. Billy's Chilies or Ghost Faced Killah work great. I've done this w a few juicy IPAs as well as mango and grapefruit flavored IPAs... does wonders IMO.

A "Heaven and Hell" is a DFH 120 and WWS mixed. I had one with two aged draft versions of these; best single pint of beer I've ever had. So your combo sounds like something I'm gonna try...

I can't find a picture of it, but my buddy's wife was a bartender at a craft beer bar and she made up something she called jungle fever. I swear one day 95% of the people in their were drinking at least one of them. It was a little bit of crispin cider, son of a peach, lennies summer shandy, and Guinness. Probably a 20/20/30/30 combo. It worked very well together.
