Never really had the desire to blend beers together. Some may be good but I'm sure a lot are putrid.

Pumpkin beer + vanilla porter = terrific.
Not always easy to pull off, but New Glarus Raspberry and Chocolate Yeti is another big winner.

Harpoon used to do some awesome blends in their tap room. I had Raspberry Hefeweizen + Chocolate Porter (might have been stout) for a delicious liquid chocolate raspberry cake.

I don't buy beer in enough quantity to ever come close to contemplating this

fruit ales and stouts are common combo's, and for good reason: somewhat predictable and (given decent components) tasty blends that are often superior to one or both (think, mediocre stout and fruit beer) ales. How common" ... I've seen Black & Blue (stout or porter + blueberry ale) on the menu at several pubs.

50/50 Flying Monkeys Chocolate Manifesto with Lindemans Framboise, was glorious dessert in a glass.
50/50 Fullers London Pride/London porter, smoothest B&T I've ever had.

About a 50/50 of Rubaeus and Founders Imperial Stout was delicious.

I like buying the available boxed lambics and making my own blends rounding it out with other shelf lambics. There are some amazing blends to be had balancing the between the strongest flavor profiles of certain lambic.

    "I don't always blend beers, but when I do - I don't."

In all seriousness, if I ever happen to have both in hand simultaneously (which is a really an impossibility), I would like to try the "ultimate black and tan" with DFH 120 Minute IPA and World Wide Stout.

Rubaeus is a great beer for blending. Works with stout and when added in small quantities to berliner weisses

Edmund Fitzgerald and Ghost Face Killah.

These were leftovers from a beer bread experiment that did not turn out as well as I had hoped. After I mixed them together and tasted the resulting swill, I dumped it into a pot of chili.
