Good Ass Beer (below) with Badass Beer. Probably makes Worse Ass Beer?

I had a case of "off flavored" Budweiser Bourbon County Stout. I tried blending them with Dragons Milk, Wild Onions Drago, OB's Ten-Fidy, and Founder's Imperial Stout. I used a 2:1 ratio, 8oz good beer, 4th bad beer. I thought it worked better with OB and Founder's.
Kinda reminded me of Revolution's Death by Cherries.

Had two OBs leftover recently, so combined Hotbox with Death by Coconut - the results were surprising (or not) - my wife loved it, I wasn't so sure at first. But I'd do it again, if I was left with a can of each and was being indecisive about it. Roasty, coffee, coco-flavors were pretty good though... hmm...

Around here it's common to order a "95 Shilling," half and half Odell 90 Shilling and 5 Barrel.

As a homebrewer, I have been getting into it the last couple times I've brewed. I get more beer out of it, and it's sort of fun to think about how they pair together, and drink with food. DId it with a session ale, and a saffron brett saison, and an imperial mole and a dark brett. Both blends taste better than the original beers, imho.

I think blending allows us to build on strengths or create complementary opposites. I can't say all mine have been successes but a few have been some of the most flavorful brews I've enjoyed so I'm convinced the practice is sound.

Hope I didn't already post this, (lots of pages) and, not quite on topic, but, blend a few of your favorite beers (IMPY stouts, stouts, and porters) and add a drop or two of your favorite booze. I added a half shot of bourbon to half a Bell's 30th and half of a Bell's Kalamazoo, and it was pretty damned tasty.

We've always tried essentially a 9:3 oz ratio, allows for 1 smaller bottle of Framboise to complete half a six-pack (2 beers each). More of a economical use of ingredients than following a known recipe, but works for us. Might have to try a 1:1 in the future.

Blended Brooklyn black chocolate stout with one of my homebrew mixed berry beers. Worked pretty nicely, tasted like a chocolate covered raspberry.

KBS with Rubaeus (not my idea) is the best I've experienced.

KBS and Frootwood would be similar and may give Frootwood some taste of bourbon barrel

Hi I recently blended a Alesmith Double Ipa and a Enjoy by. I love Alesmith Double Ipa but unfortunately the hops go quick. So I blended 50/50 and boy did that Alesmith Double Ipa come back to life.

The last mix I had was 3/4 Sculpin and topped off with Habenaro Sculpin on tap. It helped both beers immensely, a very average Sculpin picks up a bot of spice, a spicy Habenaro that's for too much for a pint gets dumbed down a bit.

Otter Creek's Couch Surfer with Burlington Beer Company's Strawberry Whale Cake. 50/50

Idletyme's Oatmeal Stout with anything of Burlington's You Can't Get There From Here fruited sour series. 50/50 suggested. Ones I've tried were
    - "Blackberries & Currants"
    - "Strawberry & Rhubarb"
    - "Peach & Passionfruit"

All were awesome to me. I'm assuming the other You Can't Get There From Here beers are at least good.

Long Trails' Unearthed with their Pumpkin ale. 50/50.

Foley Brothers' Double Maple Brown and Four Quarters Caff-O-Lantern. 60/40 blend, IMO, works the best.

Plans for upcoming blends (I hope), blend ratio [TBD]:

Queen City Yorkshire Porter with Burlington Beer Company's Barbe Rouge IPA

1st Republic's 104 Porter with Simple Roots' Gose the Raspberrian (had a guy suggest this to me, so I'm inquisitive)

Simple Roots' Vanilla Hearthside with their American Breeze.

Ten Bends' Fargone Lullaby with their Early Bender.

Hoping to come back to this thread to post pix.
