Any Imperial Stout and B. Nektar Cherry Chipotle Melomel and you are golden. I went with Dragons Milk, just love it.

I like an amazing bourbon barrel stout (say BCBS) mixed with a well made saison (say something from HF) the yeastiness really makes an interesting flavor come out of the BCBS

Samuel Smith's chocolate stout w/ Samuel Smith's oatmeal stout = Samuel Smith's English breakfast stout. Yum.

I have been known to pour a shot of Russian Standard vodka into my beer from time to time...I don't have a name for it, it is just what I do...

Why anyone would pour anything into a BCBS is beyond anything I can imagine...IMO

I've mixed IPAs and stouts in the past, but this thread reminded me of how I could finally drink those last two pumpkin beers that are sitting around.

I am thinking of trying a Dale's Pale or Devient Dale's with Ten Fidy. Craft version of a black and tan

Like I said at the end of my sentence, it was just my opinion (IMO)....

It probably was a good mix, but I don't see myself anytime soon, bring able to afford enough BCBS to warrant the experiment (I would be too bummed if it failed).

By the way - curious to know - did you top it with some nutmeg?
    Cheers!

Not two beers but Old Rasputin and Pinot noir. Maybe more of a 2:1 than 1:1.
    It's awesome.

Pulled off a pretty nice blend yesterday for a bottle share. In a 64oz growler, blended 2x 22oz ST Choklats, 2 12oz 's Bourbon County, then added a few tbsp of jalapeno infused Knob Creek bourbon.

Guess which beer the crowd talked about the most?

I had never thought of this. Seems a risk versus reward thing, but maybe it is a new opportunity. Beer mixology shouldn't be any different than mixing any other drinks, cooking with beer, or beer pairings with food. Seems to me it pushes the envelope and adds to the legitimacy of beer in general. No different than the brewers pushing the limits and experimenting. The challenge would be understanding the flavors and figuring out what goes with what, but I reckon all those expensive mixed cocktails evolved the same way.

Will say initially, the purist in me had the WTF moment, but thinking about it changed that initial reaction. It is a choice, after all.
