I don't understand the appeal of going to a bar where you are faced with "a wall of people 8 deep to get to the bar with no one moving." On any given day, there's great beer being poured all over the city. Is the beer you hope to drink at the event that much better than what's available elsewhere? If you like the excitement, then by all means go. Just don't complain that you don't like the Blind Tiger because it's too crowded... you are one of those bodies that's making it crowded.

Yeah the only reason I went last year is because I had lunch with a friend a few blocks away and figured why not. Immediately regretted going as soon as I got there.

Obviously, the appeal is the rare beers that you will probably see only a handful of times in NYC all year. In some cases, the beer is a lot better (ie. Cantillon) than you can get elsewhere, in some cases it's not. I tried showing up at 4 pm last year and just walked right past since BT was so freakin slammed. 2 and 3 years ago, I was able to get to the bar and grab a couple of beers. I will probably walk by later today and leave without ever going in...

    I love this statement.

There are two beer bars in NYC that I've gone to and left without ordering a drink due to crowds... and I like them both. Blind Tiger is one of them. As it's been said, when you go to the Blind Tiger early the day after an event, it's great.

Happened to be in the hood for work. Popped in. Almost everything is tapped but everything you'd want to go for isn't being served until 3pm. Lots of room.

Got there at 2:50pm. 3/4th packed out but people seemed to be getting their pours fairly quickly and without incident. Friend and I were lucky enough to have a few guys order for us and we passed our cash to them. STAND UP GUYS. We moved out the way and let others order and enjoyed our beers by the door. Wasnt at all as bad as i wouldve thought. Left around 3:30 and it was still around the way 3/4 full. Not bad BT, not bad at all.

Wouldn't doubt if most who went last year avoided it this year. Good to hear you got some pours!

Got there around 1:45 and ended up getting a seat at the bar. Had a few of what I wanted before 3pm, and at 3 had some of the OG Vanilla and then bounced. Place was pretty packed right before 3 and almost dropped in number by half once the Vanilla kicked around 3:20.

I stopped by early around 2 pm and only tried Street Green. Had to go back to work so didn't wait around until 3. I'll be heading to the Well tonight for their 1 yr anniversary. A lot of the same beers will be here from BT's VSK. And I doubt it will be anywhere as busy.

I had an awesome time. There was more than enough on tap before 3 to keep me occupied.

It feels like it wasn't as jammed this year; granted the crowd grew substantially as Bourbon County was being tapped but dissipated just as quickly.

I never felt like I was waiting forever at the bar to be served either, excellent job by the staff there.

I stopped in yesterday at 3 or so, aside from Vanilla, Vietnamese Coffee, and Lunch, pretty much everything was still on.

i got there at 5:15 crowded but room to stand and move around. Never had to wait for beers, Kate was bartending and they got smart and had a second bartender along with Oz pouring beers.
