Unfortunately I was not chosen for the brunch on Nov. 22nd. I am still hoping to land some bottles at the 11am general release. Anyone been to one of these events and know when people typically start lining up? Really want to be one of the first 40.

Depends. The last brunch which was the cellar sale I got there at 3am and was first in line. Id say if you show up from one to two hours before 9am you may be okay. It depends really on how many show up. Generally the sooner you get there the better.

Did you mean before 11am or are you saying to be there 3-4 hours early?

Well 11 is when they open for the public, so you can be sure people will be there before 11 to get in. I've always done the brunches so I can only tell you what I have seen. Seems to be plenty of people there at 9am. Not sure if you want all the beers but last I heard there are some low amounts. It's always best to be early if you want to be sure.

Right I was hoping to arrive around 9. But if you think there will be more than 40 people in line by then that might be pointless..

eh, like I said, it all depends. there were over 400 people who wanted in to the brunch so that's a lot of interest. more than the cellar sale.

/I think ArdyExfor might be missing some of the point you're trying to make Glen.

At the Cellar release, it didn't matter what time you arrived (if you weren't there for the brunch event), as everything was sold out by the time B15 opened to the general public. I don't know if that will be the case on the 22nd; my guess is that it depends on what the OP is hoping to obtain. As Glen mentioned, some of the beers are made in very small quantities, and may well sell out during the brunch event (typically, brunch attendees are allowed to buy a certain set allocation, with a chance to buy additional stuff if the everthing doesn't sell out during the first run through of brunch attendees).

Rather than speculating on this, my recommendation would be to call or email B15, and ask them if they expect bottle sales of the new releases will be open to the general public after the brunch event. If they're unsure about certain beers (for instance, if they tell you it depends on bottle sales during the brunch), I would assume that in all likelihood those beers will sell out during the brunch. Granted, you might get lucky, and if you live in Corvalis it might be worthwhile to walk by B15, just in case there are some leftovers, but I sure wouldn't make a special trip, just on the off chance there might be some leftovers of the beers you're hoping to obtain.

    Good luck!

(One quick caveat. Although I was told there was nothing left/available for sale when I left B15 after the cellar sale brunch, much to my surprise, a very limited number of brunch blend bottles showed up down in Eugene, along with a keg. Not sure that's something I would count on in the future though....

they allocate the beer to guarantee the same allotments for the first 40 people in line as the brunch attendees.

If anyone got a reservation for 2, and their + isn't going to make it, please hit me up! Traveling from Eastern Oregon and would say "thank you" with a growler of Barley Brown's or something...

Does anyone have a preference for Les Caves or Block 15 for brunch? Is one or the other generally regarded as better food?

The food at Les Caves is awesome. The brewery's food is good, but just not at the same level.

The lunch and dinner menu at the brewery is decent, but let's be honest: the release-day buffet breakfast is terrible. It's cheaper, it's all-you-can-eat, and there's usually more of the release beers on tap; but as far as food quality goes, there's simply no comparison at all.

Every time I here buffet, I think of 8 year olds sticking their dirty fingers in the mac and cheese...

But yes, dining off a menu is ALWAYS better than a buffett. Food made for YOUR single plate, not a hotel pan meant for 30 people.

Oh and if anyone has an extra spot, don't hesitate to PM me. ( after these guys^^^ get taken care of, of course )

Wow, BA quite telling me I had responses here...

This is what I was basing my post off of. If they run out of everything during brunch I don't know why they would say this on the release details. The question was what it would take to be one of those 40. What time I would need to arrive.

Long shot: if anyone has seats but isn't going, my wife and I would love to attend.
