I’m heading out there for the weekend tomorrow. Do I need to bring beer with me or is there anywhere out there that has a decent selection?

    Bring beer with you.

Where are you going from? Pt Judith or Montauk? Let me know and I could you give you some good suggestions, especially for RI’s side.

If you are looking for a bottle shop along the way, Coastal in Branford (exit 54) is 2 mins off of I-95 and always had a good selection when I stopped there. They usually have G-Bot in the back. Also, if time lines up, stopping at Nebco is always a good choice especially since they seem to be pumping more cans out lately.

I can second the Branford store recommendation. We took a trip up to Mystic last year and stopped there based off a friend’s recommendation and I walked out with fresh Counterweight, Relic and Collective Arts IPAs and a cheap 4 of Sunday Morning Stout and cheaper than NY Franminghammer variants. Staff was really, really helpful and friendly. I was a very happy guy walking out of there.

Exactly. I used to stop there on my trips back to RI before I found a great bottle shop near my house in RI. I was overwhelmed the first time by the size of the selection. Great place.

    Is nebco far off 95?

I remember it being about 15 minutes from 95. I also remember Google telling me to turn prematurely and it put me on the wrong road which spit me on to a highway, so I never actually made it to the brewery. Haha.

As @ONovoMexicano said, its about 15 mins off I-95. It’s definitely worth the pit stop.

bear in mind that NEBCO is not open all week as well as other places in the New Haven area...I think they're Wednesday - Sunday unless they changed it

I think Counterweight is open the same days

I worked out a couple of trades in advanced so I was able to take some NEBCO and Counterweight home with me

Also, Amity Wine & Spirits in New Haven has some good options...can't compare to the place in Branford

Agreed about Amity. It’s really close to NEBCO (under 5 mins) if you do go on a day NEBCO is open. If you dont plan on going to NEBCO or it isn’t open on the day you drive by, Coastal in Branford is your better option. They have a better selection and is super convenient from I-95. Amity is a good 15-20 north of I-95.
