bloomington (IN) craft beer week

first timer, are there some good beers going around this week? i'm definitely in for the fest on saturday, how good is the other stuff during the week?

Cool, i knew they did the big fest on saturday last year, but thought maybe i had been living under a rock and missed the mid-week festivities.

I'm definitely in for some/all, sounds like great DLD training. Perhaps we should have a BA tasting on Friday or something (will have to check with the boss/wife!)? damn i wish places would allow you to bring in bottles, i wonder if we could talk Yogis into it? Anybody know Chris Karl?

Monday – Special Tap’ing of Daredevil Brewing ‘Ripcord’ Imperial IPA. (one of the first in the State)
Tuesday – Brewing Conference and Information with Sun King, Flat12, Brugge Brasserie and Bier Brewery.
Wednesday – Cutters Brewing Co. Tap takeover and special Pin. Girls Pint Out from Indy as guests.
Thursday – Upland Brewing Co. release of Champagne Velvet at The Tap. Also available, Trogdor IPA and Ard Ri.
Friday – Tap takeover from New Albanian Brewing and Bloomington Brewing Co.
Saturday – Tap takeover from Sun King and Flat 12.

Also, we will be tapping at undisclosed times: Three Floyd’s Zombie Dust, Bell’s Hopslam and Expedition Stout, Founder’s KBS and more…

Brewery reps and swag all week long. Craft beer fest tix available for purchase.

Anyone have any super-secret tips on when the KBS will be tapped? I promise i won't drink it all haha just don't want to miss it on tap this year!

Has Yogis mentioned their KBS yet (assuming they got some again?)? that was fun last year!

This week was a very bad week to have flu-like symptons. After being knocked out for the past 2 nights, I hope to make up this weekend.

 

i won't be around when this happens, unfortunately (out of town teaching a class on saturday and sunday)... hint-hint.

 

So Max's didn't have Van Pogue but they did have Winter cycle and Iwas very impressed with. I walked over to Yogi's and they have Van Pogue and it was fucking awesome. Like Victory at Sea awesome.

The the bartender suggested I try Flat 12s Pinko. RIS aged in Pappy Von Winkle barrels. That beer knocked me out. If you're in town make sure you try those.

 

Msg from me to Yogi yesterday: Are you tapping any 3 letter beers today?
Response: This week is Indiana. Next week is Michigan.

 

Van Pogue is the beer that got me into Flat 12 to begin with. Love that one.

Also i talked to Nathan (lol) from the Tap on Wed. night. he originally said Fri or SAT for KBS, but then Wed he said he might wait until next week since he has so many other beers... he ended with "i will let you guys know", so i guess watch the emails?
