The last few cases of Blue Moon white ale I bought had some beers with sour, syrupy-like taste. They had a new blue moon label as well. I returned a case yesterday and bought another at BJ’s. I opened 2 beers and they were horrible. Hard to describe the taste other than very sour or bitter. Has anyone else noticed this? I tried to contact Blue Moon online, but their contact forms said there was an error. Tried that 5 times and gave up

Haven't had Blue Moon in years, so cannot comment. Give Allagash White a try, you won't be disappointed.

    @boomerst3 What @BeerFan said

Never again in your life buy that beer. Allagash White is a superior alternative , should be available in your area and even if you don't like it at first you'll eventually love it and realize the grass is greener.

What other styles of beer do you like? Plenty of people here are ready to help

Blue Moon is a Molson Coors brand.

I had one from the can not long ago. It tasted like Blue Moon, for better or worse.

Sounds like bad cases. Could be a bad batch(es) at the brewery or just as likely the beers got 'damaged' in transport.

You should contact them (info. in post #4) and have production information available (printed information on the bottle/can) so you can let them know (e.g., if there is a production batch issue).

    Cheers!

Was never a fan of Blue Moon (several good years ago), but haven’t given it a chance again.

If you dig witbier and if you can find it, Chouffe Blanche was extraordinary.

In other news, water is wet and fire is hot.

I drink Blue Moon here and there and it tastes like it always has. I'd hit up Coors and let 'em know. Could be any number of things and they'll probably want to do something about all of them.

Or maybe... you forgot to put the oranges in.

I am fairly certain that the post from @dcotom above was 'tongue in cheek' but for folks interested in the origin story of bartenders placing an orange slice in a glass of Blue Moon you can listed to Keith Villa in the below video. I personally am not a fan of fruit/citrus slices in my beer but I have to hand it to Keith, this was some great marketing here.

    Cheers!

True, but even regular Hoegaartden is vastly superior to Blue Moon. The problem is availability where the OP lives. I'm guessing that pretty much every wit beer made in Belgium is superior to Blue Moon. Unfortunately, most can't be found in Florida.

The Chouffe blanche is a great recommendation, but I'm guessing is very hard to obtain in Florida.

I like Allagash but I like Blue Moon better. It’s not as strong

I like Hoegaartden and ShockTop, as well as Black and Tans. I can have one Alligash White, but it has too strong of a taste for me to drink more than that at one sitting.

Do they still make Shock Top?
Maybe that would be a suitable alternative in the meantime while Coors figures out what happened to that batch?
I doubt it was a brewery issue, as those industrial breweries seldom have contamination problems.
Probably a transport/storage/handling issue, but who knows?
    Anything is possible.
I'd contact above posted phone number and talk to "customer assistance."

Never liked it from day one. Once at a blues fest it was the only thing going. That and Mich Ultra and Bud Light. Had 3 Blue Moons. I’m still sorry.

Completely understandable reaction, but consider how much more sorry you would have been if you drank 3 bud lights or Mich ultras instead.

You just incited me to buy it by the way.

Some style are not for everyone, unless the beer is almost a consensus. Chouffe Blanche is for me. Witbier are hits or misses, I dislike Hoegaarden too, albeit better than Blue Moon.

Right to point out about both availability and price of Chouffe Blanche down in Florida. At any rate, I’m recommending it again:
