?

Do you stop drinking craft beer once you get to a certain point of intoxication?

I hate getting hung over, it's self inflicted punishment and most have done it. It's been a hell of a long time, and I don't wish to redo that, but I kinda like a mellow buzz. Do what pleases you, if it's chugging vodka so be it, as long as your safe. I hate watching guys or gals drunk out at the bar, if your so inclined do it at home where you won't hurt or bother anyone.

I know the feeling. I woke up to a half full barrel aged Yeti last year.

This is true, but I'm not afraid to admit that I still enjoy BMC. I even enjoy all their cheaper little sisters that BMC purist are disgusted by. I've never been too concerned with who the majority share holders are in a brewery. I know people who won't drink Lagunitas, goose island, etc.. Because of their affiliations, but not me.. I just drink what I like, be it a BBA imperial stout or a Miller High Life.

Absolutely not. That's what Weihenstephaner, Left Hand Milk Stout and SABL are for.

Funny you mentioned Left Hand Milk Stout...off topic, but... A friend had left one in my fridge a while back, cracked it last night and after pouring hard (nitro) it gushed all over my kitchen. Appearently there is an infection recall. Wife is still mad at me Because she watched me "pour it like an idiot".

I'll nod off to sleep before the decision comes up.

I'll pass over my best beer when I get to that point and opt for something mediocre that's been lingering in the beer fridge, but I still want something half decent.

I do laugh at the thought of being "too drunk" and the time to switch to another beer. Too drunk by definition means time to stop drinking.

Cheers to reinforcing the alcoholic stereotype any alcohol based hobby has attached to it.

Back in my college days in Boston there was (and still is) a Rock Bottom right around the corner from school. I was a regular, a member of their "Mug Club", and eventually got my name engraved on one of their kegs. Well, one time I came in and they had a beer called "Liquid Happiness" on tap. I didn't think twice and ordered one. They didn't think twice and filled my 20+oz mug. Three or Four times. Now I was used to drinking that much volume, but damned if I couldn't keep my perch on my barstool. It was only on a subsequent visit that I noticed the abv on the chalkboard was north of 9%. Lesson learned at a relatively early age... know what you're drinking... and probably don't suck back multiple imperial pints of American Strong Ale.

Vintage Porto is nice, 2-3 fingers worth in a red wine glass.

If one is lucid enough to consider switching from craft beers to a cheaper liquid "futherance" of the buzz, one likely should not have had that last craft brew. This is a sure prescription for a headache.

I try not to get drunk. When I have had a few good ones and am filling good, I switch to good beers that are more commonly found like fresh squeezed, fruit basket, minute man, etc.

Even if I drink 3-4 beers, I know I drank the next morning....not sick hungover, but just have that slight glaze....

I call that maintenance drinking where just about any old thing will do and can lead to waking up on the carpet with the dog licking your face because it's morning and he wants to go out.
