So glad that I got shut out on the variant tickets. I wouldn't have purchased my allotment after that either.

Wow. This is kind of disappointing...

Those flavor combos sound like they are a joke. Why would someone make a strawberry imperial stout, let alone rosemary and mint? Honestly either it is a cruel joke from the poster above, or people are going to be pissed... At least regular B&L is delicious.

Anyone in line? A buddy of mine said it's a gigantic mess, no organization at all... He bailed without buying his allotment.

Just got back to my place. The line went slow but it wasn't bad in my opinion. I was about 50 people back after arriving at 3:45 and it took an hour for me to get to the sale table once the line started moving a little after 5pm. They were out of cognac by the time I got to buy my bottles. Was able to get the rest of them.

Your buddy must not go to releases too often. It ran about as smooth as it could without doing a ticket system for the same day public sales.

Anyone got the scoop on which colored wax means which variant? I'm rather sure of what I got but just wanted to confirm.

Yeah, he's not been to many releases, or had the pleasure of experiencing something like the pre-ticket KBS Day massacre, so he hasn't much basis for comparison... He didn't get in line until like 4:30 which I told him was a mistake... I guess he assumed he'd move right to the front of the line and be out quick since he had a reserved allotment. Oh well...

I got there about 4:30 and missed out on Cognac and Vanilla as it took until 6:40 to hit the sales table. All they has left by the time I got up there was the Rosemary& Mint. Luckily I had a reservation for the 4 pack. Got to try Cherry Vanilla pour, it was great.

I was there. As was mentioned above, it went pretty smoothly all things considered, just a little slow.

What was amazing was how quickly the variations on tap blew. They were scheduled to release one per hour or as soon as the previous one was done. I'd say all the variants that were on tap were gone inside of an hour. I know cognac kicked in about 10 minutes, maybe less. Through the generosity of others in line I was able to taste all the variants though, so hats off to the good fellowship. All in all, the release was fine, especially when compared to something like 4Elf Day. I'd much rather stand in line for a hour or so for Bo and Luke than sit outside in the cold and snow overnight for some BBPt5th.

Not sure if there was a limit on Balling, but they were $6. Bottle is 12 oz ... Short and fat like red stripe.

    Regular was $15.50 (limit 3).
Varient 4 packs were $79 (120-150 packs of which 100 were reservations: regular, orange & cacao, strawberry, rosemary-mint).
Single bottle of varients were $21 (Cognac, Vanilla, Orange & cacao, rosemary-mint... all pretty limited... probably 50-75 bottles)

Thanks @PBRmeasap1980 I figure I'll end up trading for some of the regular so I wanted to know what price point I should start at.

The wife and I drove in from Columbus for the party. We had seats at the bar so we got to try all the variants. Cognac was super boozy, LOVED both vanilla and cherry vanilla. It really was crazy how fast the drafts went. The bottle line did move really slow, but we were able to drink bo and luke while we waited. I met some really great people in line and shot the shit about beer with them so that made time go by quicker. Next year I will be bringing growlers from local Columbus breweries to share in line. Went back to the bar and had some great brisket and about 6 more regular bo and lukes.

So I didn't get a chance to try the cognac version of Bo and Luke this year. What is everyone's thoughts / reviews on the beer? Tap or bottle.

Cognac was my preference out of the variants. Vanilla was also good, Cherry Vanilla was solid, Fig & Date was fine--but I didn't get a lot of fig or date out of it. Cherry Bitters, though...man, that thing was weird. But cognac--hot, boozy, but complimented the beer well. I dug it--was bummed to miss a chance at those bottles.

Anyone know if regular Bo & Luke is still available or if they sold out on Saturday?
