    Hello all,

A friend of mine is hosting a Bock tasting next weekend where he's breaking out his home-brew Bock. I need to bring 12 bottles of a single brand to sample. Any suggestions for the Bock style currently available? Can be a straight up Bock or anything with bock in it's name, Maibock, Wiezenbock, Urbock, etc. Thank you for your suggestions/help!

Schells is a good stanby. Bells Consecrator Dopplebock and Breckenridge Pandora's Bock are tasty too. There is always Shiner Bock but I havent bothered trying that.

    Coney Island Human Blockhead.
    Highly underrated IMO.
They also have a barrel aged, that's around but harder to find.
Although these come in bombers, so that might not help in your case.

    Ayinger Celebrator is world class.
Can't go wrong, and very easy to find

While it was mentioned above, I will say Schell's Bock again. One of the best US-brewed, "standard" bock you'll find.

Capital Atumnal Fire is one of the best dopplebocks I have had. You should be able to still find it around.

I second this. Although, this would get real spendy if you needed 12 bottles.

If you needed 12 different bottles, this should be one of them. Otherwise, you will want to go with some of the more affordable options already mentioned above.

Einbecker Ur-Bock-Dunkel. Spendy, but worth a tipple.

I thought for sure you'd recommend Huber bock. :grinning:

I wouldn't want to cause a run on the Minhas clan's only half-decent beer. Besides, by bumping the Einbecker here (thereby creating a 'butterfly effect', knocking the last six pack at U.S. Liquor and Wine off the shelf), someone can split that six-pack into cheaper singles. :sunglasses:
