Dead Guy certainly played a role, Smutty and one from a small brewpub Moat Mountain really opened my eyes.
Any suggestions for Maibocks from their homeland?

-edit Summit was the first one I ever had. The guy who suggested it refered to it as "Mind-block". The next morning...I agreed.

Ayinger Weizenbock!! One of my all time favorite beers across the board. Although, truthfully I probably drink more, and have had more maibocks.

Aventinus and Vitus have been locked in a mortal struggle to be named my favorite bock for quite some time. No winner yet, but I'm enjoying the competition.

Love bocks - still mourning Glissade this season. Maibock and Hellese Bock are my favorites but I love a good doppelbock or weizenbock too.

Victory makes some good ones with Mooglow, St.Boisterous and St. Victorious

Lancaster Rumspringa is a golden bock with honey - very tasy.

Einbecker Mai-ur-Bock is a nice one too.

Yeh know, I like this beer a lot, but I looked at it yesterday -- and it's priced at $12 a 6 pack? I don't really like it that much -- especially with Capital's Maibock just down the aisle.

November and December are known in the area around Bamberg, Germany, for their huge Bockbier parties: http://www.bamberg-guide.de/bamberg/bierundbierkultur/bockbieranstiche.php. If you look at the list you'll see around 2 breweries debut their Bock per week. It's a great time to be over there, as the flights are cheap and the beer is incredible. Schlenkerla, Mahr's, and Klosterbrau were always my favorites.

Moonglow is definitely my favorite beer that Victory makes, and (I may be overselling this just a smidge) one of my favorite east coast beers. Just a great beer- and at $11-12 for a sixer! Unfortunately I think I missed it this year- did they release it yet, or is it still coming down the pike?

I had a Schlenkerla in my hands today, but put it back in favor of the Aventinus. I'm usually good for 4-6 Schlenkerla Ur-Bocks a month, so maybe it's time to get something else. I sense a Weizenbock kick coming on; too bad about the Moonglow, though. Vitus will also have to help me ease the pain, I'm sure .

FWIW- I just can't cast a vote in the poll. I love them all equally.
