Any folks on here been to this event or planning to go this year. It's my first year in Anchorage so I'm trying to get a feel for the can't miss events vs. the something to do type deals. Description I got was a tasting event of AK and Pac NW beer, mead and cider. Heard about it from Midnight Sun so I'm sure they will have a showing, but anyone know any more about the lineup? Anything special or just the same stuff I'd find at the breweries or Brown Jug that weekend?
I've been to two Bodega fests, absolutely nothing special whatsoever. Last time I went (probably 2012 or 2013) I don't think I even used all my tickets because it was a total un-enjoyable clusterfuck and the beers that were pouring were all shelf beers. And unless this has been changed, you get a certain number of tickets, then you have to buy more. Some beers are 1 ticket, some 2, some 3, etc. It was so tight you could hardly move around. Not sure if they still have it at the same place, when I went it was in a building at Kincade Park.
Not to miss events: Beer and Barleywine Fest - January - go to the afternoon session Culmination - varies, but the last one was in August Anything special event at Anchorage Brewing Bookmark this for good info (not my site): http://alaskanbeer.blogspot.com
