Black Grouse in Saranac Session Ale was a pretty great combo for me this weekend.

Isn't this the---- a shot and a beer. Jim Beam( or any good bourbon) and a lager. In England it's a lager and a brown ale. You don't want to try the George Thorogood --" one bourbon, one Scotch, one beer."

Bourbon in a sweeter imperial stout.
Rum in a belgian quad, my favorite is Bacardi in three philosophers.

Alex, what is a struggling football program in the Big Ten? Sorry, couldn't resist.

I was at a good beer bar recently, and several guys came in to celebrate an occasion of theirs. They had a Long Trail EIPA on tap, then ordered a shot of Jameson's. I haven't had a shot and a beer in such a long time, I can't even remember. Another guy came in and sat next to me and ordered a double Absolute on the rocks and a Stella. I didn't order a shot with my pint of Sculpin, but what are some shot and beer combo's you like on that rare treat day, at your favorite beer bar?

Bourbon with an imperial stout. I rarely actually mix them together. I usually just take turns between the glasses but it does pair well.

Boilermakers haven't been relevant since Gene Keady and Joe Tiller retired.

Still more relevant than IU in both sports in that time frame!

To me a Boilermaker is Kentucky bourbon and an American lager. Anything along the lines of a Jim or Jack and a Budweiser is the go to.

Also, to add to aasher's point, Boiler Up! #alumni

Seagrams and Coors did not work out very well. It was the 70ies and that's all that was on the bar (I mean dorm room desk). I'm pretty sure it was operator error.
