I have a bunch of large keg o-rings that have been used with sour beers, but wouldnt mind using them for "clean" beers. Has anyone done this? Is there any reason not to boil them? I am assuming this would sterilize them, any reason to believe otherwise.

No need to boil, a nice soak at 180* would more than do the trick. Nitrile orings are rated at 190*+ if I recall correctly. EPDM would be higher yet. To be safe, I wouldn't have them at the bottom of a pot while the burner is on.

They are pretty cheap, plus isn't it a good idea to replace them periodically anyway? (to prevent old ones from leaking co2 eventually) It seems like a small investment to prevent infection anyway.

Don't even boil them. If your wild keg o rings infect your clean beer, PM me and I will send you a new set.
