I know it's been discussed if the value of Bolt Cutter will drop dramatically since it actually hit distribution.... I've seen some pretty tall ISO's when offering Bolt Cutter, my question is would a 3F Golden Blend land one? It looks like I'm going to miss Bolt Cutter landing due to the Thanksgiving and really want to land one.
I would most certainly think so. I would much rather have a Golden Blend than a Bolt Cutter. Bolt Cutter was good, but overhyped.
All my extras if any will be going straight to trading partners for cost. Best bet is to invest in solid relationships.
more than Curmudgeon's Better Half and less than CBS when it first came out. Golden Blend might work, but the hilariously high price of the bottle causes it to linger on shelves whereas Bolt Cutter is selling out within an hour or less at most places that were "lucky enough" to get ONE case.
... a seemingly common trend for any, many and all 1 offs these days.... the # of beer hounds out there as increased dramatically, as the # of bottles that hit shelves of 1 offs seem to dwindle, or at least become spread out much more so stores are getting less?... i could be wrong, i am human
Just as an example, I can drive to 3 different places within 15 miles that have Golden Blend on the shelf. Bolt Cutter sold out in a couple of hours at the 1 store that received it in Cincy/NKY with a 1 bottle limit. I would think it could get done but I imagine we're going to see quite a lot of lofty ISOs with Bolt Cutter ala BCS, CBS, CBH, etc. Good luck op.
It depends on the market. Here tons of golden blend is sitting on the shelves collecting dust while Bolt Cutter is very limited and came and went in a flash.
i wouldn't do that trade either way, honestly (both beers i'd want to hang onto, neither beers i'd be amazed that someone would give them up or whatever). as for bolt cutter value, i've bought 3 bottles so far (1 for me, 1 for my friend, 1 potentially for past trading partner). i have no idea what people are willing to offer for it, but when i casually checked the ISO:FT, i saw a whole lot of FT: bolt cutter, ISO: x, y, z, and almost no ISO: bolt cutter. buyer beware.
