There is a local restaurant that has a good collection of nice bottles, and will sell them to take out, and they have a bolt cutter for $32 dollars. Is it aging well enough that it would be worth it to grab a bottle and sit on it for a while?

Boltcutter is delicious, but no beer is worth that price

If you want to try it or havent. It was $23-30 off the shelf when released. So its not that far off from original shelf price. If you try trading for Boltcutter it will take $32 to get it(cost of bottle + shipping costs). I think it has fantastic aging potential and I am holding onto 3 bottles for aging. I am going to wait 2 years minimium before I crack the next bottle. Founders Deca with 4 years on it was very nice beer and it held up very well. That was also a hoppy Barleywine and was Founder's 10th Anniversary beer. Based on how Boltcutter tasted fresh, I say it will be much better Barleywine when the most or all hops leave the beers flavor profile.

Had a bottle this weekend. Also had a few sips back in Dec, but it was at the end of a long night. It was really a great barleywine. I dont know if it is worth $32, but I can promise you that you will be bummed out if you never get to try it.

I bought several at $30 a pop, and I feel it was totally worth it. I would drink one now and sit on one or two others, because it's really drinking great at the moment.

Can't imagine time will make it any less of a mess of a beer. Too hop forward and the malt lacked complexity for me, both of which don't bode well for aging.

I got mine for $16, straight from the distributor, perks for working at a craft bar. Sold in my area @ liquor stores for $24, for about 45 minutes. Then it was gone. Grab one and feel good bout it. It's you only hope Obi-won.

Holy cow, I'm spoiled living in Michigan, I paid $25 for two bottles. Had one fresh and loved it, sitting the other in my basement for a while.

Whoops, you guys are right. I paid $23+/bottle, LMAO. I pulled old debit card info to see how much I spent and I accidentally looked at 11/11 instead of 11/12 before. I appear to have spent 47.26 on two bottles of Bolt Cutter.

I've got one more left and wondering how it's drinking now. I could put a year or two or three more on it, whatever, just wondering. Thanks!

I'd like to know that myself. I had some Bolt Cutter on tap a few months ago and it was very sweet tasting back then. I have a bottle here at home that I would like to drink at some point, and it wouldn't hurt to hear other opinions saying whether to drink it now or to hold on to it for a while longer.

I've never had boltcutter but i've got one in my fridge, I'm already mildly buzzed and have heard bad things about this beer. Should I open it now and not be disappointed or open it sober and be disappointed.
