Anyone hear of this one or know anymore details? "American styles with belgian techniques".....hmmmm.

Credit to Eater Boston for the pasted article below.

Coming to Everett sometime this year, Bone Up Brewing Company recently updated its fans to say that the production facility and taproom will open "hopefully soon." On the active company blog, Jared and Liz "Jimbo" Kiraly, the husband-and-wife duo behind Bone Up, saidlicensing and buildout are the two not-surprising factors holding them up. Their targeted June opening date has slid down to "hilariously improbable," but they still hope to open sometime this summer.

The company's Massachusetts brewer's license has been filed with the Alcoholic Beverages Control Commission, and the Kiralys have submitted supplementary documents. Local approval will be sought once plumbing and a floor re-do is complete at the brewery, located on Tileston Street.

When it does open the doors, Bone Up Brewing will offer American styles brewed with Belgian techniques. The products will be easy-drinking and approachable, the website says. Some pilot batches so far have included a "premium ale" called Extra Naked and a robust porter called Shut Up Kelly, an homage to a girl the brewers knew who "didn't like dark beers" until she tried their porter. She proceeded to tell them that story every time they talked about brewing, so there you go.

While all festivities are dependent on securing requisite legal permits, the team has some fun ideas in mind for the future, including a beer garden, food truck festivals, chili cook-offs, and live music. They also dream of creating specialty brews for local restaurants, bars, and betrothed people.

American styles with Belgian techniques. Can someone explain what that means? And what the hell is a premium ale?

Also, how does their IPA compare to Boom Sauce?

Been hearing whispers about this from other local breweries..Besides a 'interesting name', all the people Ive talked to have been excited to have another brewery on the N Shore. Good luck guys, and will be excited to be a regular when I visit NightShift as well.

    According to their site:

The "Belgian techniques" seems to allude to the idea the American brewers are venturing too far into beers that are "difficult" to drink or that seem to demand your undivided attention. I guess kinda like "sessionable" but with the strong abv focus? You should probably read their site so that I don't put too many words into their collective mouth.

The premium ale looks like it's aiming to be something like a cream ale/american "koelsch"/etc.

Their IPA will be $0.40/4pk more than Boom Sauce, and will hence be both exorbitantly overpriced and a bargain.

I actually tried reading the website. I thought it was a joke at first.

I looked at the website, someone is impressed with themselves.
Hell, I was a little shocked there wasn't a Pumpkin Peach under the Seasonal page.
They do reference Trout Fishing in America, I shan't be surprised to find myself drinking a jug of their beer out of a paper bag someday.
    Ok fine, Mayonaise*

They are setting up on the same street as us. Once they come online and Short Path Distillery who is also one block down from us and opens June 27th we should have a nice little Trifecta of spots to check out in our corner of Everett. Combine with Idle Hands/Enlightenment and Mystic and Trillium you have 6 spots all within a few miles of each other. Should be fun. Cheers!

Man, that website makes me really not want to drink their beer. I'm as snarky as anyone, but that was over the top. Jokes are fine if you're actually sharing information, but I didn't learn much.

Hey, with the awesome traffic in that area you could visit all six in about, let's say... 5 hours!

I'm kidding, of course (mostly). Nice to see more stuff popping up in my area.
