Just saw this tweet from Boneyard, and I have to say I'm excited to try it. Who's with me? NEW COLLABORATION ALERT: We teamed up with Alpine Beer Co. in San Diego to brew Chingadera Double IRA. How do you like them apples?
Had it on tap at Baileys in Portland. Haven't read about it, but seemed like it had the dankness of Columbus with burnt rubber/cashed bowl aromatics. Solid beer overall.
Lordy. Hard to imagine better collaborators for a hoppy beer. Reino's "burnt rubber aromatics" description has lowered my expectations a bit, but I'm still looking forward to trying this one.
Looks like this is also already being discussed in the Boneyard thread. Oddly, the tweet I saw said nothing about being "on tap now in the tasting room"; I pasted it verbatim into the OP. I was under the impression this beer had just been brewed but wasn't available yet. Now I have to wonder if any will be sent up to Washington. Mods, feel free to merge this w/ the main Boneyard thread if that makes more sense.
I was sadly underwhelmed by it at Imperial the other day, but I was also returning from the bottle share at Growler Guys, so maybe my palate shouldn't be trusted.
@vurt don't let my comment discourage you. I'm really sensitive to that aroma (usually from older generation high alpha hops) these days, and I still enjoyed it.
@bfg75 Oh yeah. My Dad uses that word all the time. "Hand me that...uh...chingadera...you know, the chingadera that attaches the hose to the thing." Looks like I'll get to try it tomorrow at Saraveza's IIPA Fest. Excellent.
