Was surprised to see that Boneyard has their Nefarious DIPA on tap at Monk's Cafe right now.

    Anyone try it yet?

??? Are you sure flexabull? I just checked and didn't see it listed on their webiste.

I was wondering if possibly whoever posted the tap list might have been confusing Boneyard's nefarious with Ska's nefarious tenpin porter. Philly just recently finished with Philly Beer Week, and if memory serves (not postive about this), I think there was a Ska event or two during PBW. So it's at least possible that there might have been a keg or two of the Ska version left over from PBW. I'm virtually certain that Boneyard didn't send any kegs out for PBW this year (that's the sort of announcement that would have gotten around), so I'd be very surprised if Monk's actually had a keg of Boneyard Nefarious.

It's not impossible though, as sometimes you see some odd, unexpected things showing up in and around Philly (I remember some bar in Philly somehow got a keg of Laurelwood Deranger some years back). However, I think it more likely that someone at Monk's just made a mistake when posting their online tap list.

There were no Ska events in Philly for Beer Week

Monk's Cafe, Falling Rock and both Toronado's all received kegs of Nefarious.

Nefarious was a contract brew by Boneyard for Apex's anniversary in Portland. The owner sent some to his friends/other owners at these other craft spots around the country.

Interesting. It was put on about two weeks ago after Molenbier kicked. Is it still pouring? Perhaps Tom received multiple kegs.

FWIW, I thought it was great. For a real bruiser of a DIPA, I had no problem getting through the pint(!). The alcohol heat was kept in check. Bitterness goes right up to the border of tolerable, but never oversteps. Very fruity from the Mosaic, Citra, and Simcoe. Not too sweet.

Was over at Bier Stein yesterday (in Eugene), and they have it listed as the next keg on after the sticky hands DIPA kicks. I'm now starting to wonder how much of this was made, and whether there might be some other places around the state and/or country where this beer will turn up. In any event, I'm looking forward to trying it sometime this weekend or next week.
